Need crafty idea for housewarming gifts :D

Our neighbors just sold their house(at least someone put a contract on it yesterday). So if all goes well I'll have new neighbors to welcome in about 4 weeks or so. What is a really unique crafty thing to give them as a housewarming gift? My mom said the best thing would be dinner, whether it be a home cooked meal or just having pizza delivered b/c when you're unpacking you don't want to make another mess by cooking dinner. But that has drawbacks, what if they're vegetarians and don't eat pepperoni pizza? :LOL So I want something crafty and neat, yet useful that I can make or buy for them

what about painting a flower pot and planinting a couple of pansies in it?

I like the dinner idea, but you are right...plus food allergies and stuff like that make it hard.

you could also do a gift basket with things like:

single serving coffee bags
tea
a coffee mug or two
coupons to a local restaurant
a local guide to fun, family friendly things to do
banana bread (I know, I know this is a food thing : )

We usually get a quart sized bottle of milk and put it in a nice wine gift bag. Add a wrapped up box of homemade cookies and you're good to go. People are amused at the novelty of bottled milk and love the cookies. Chocolate chip is almost always a favorite.

I love the cookies and milk idea, but you can still run into the dietary restrictions thing.

I was also going to suggest a plant, maybe in a special planter or basket?

I've also given gift baskets of food from our local Whole Foods, and tell the person that they can take anything back, even without a receipt. This is especially nice for a neighbor new to the area, who might not be familiar with the store.

My friend once gave me a plastic tub filled with farmer's market finds.

It was simply one of the best gift I ever got. It was sincere yet simple.

And my ds has lots of fun with the plastic tub.
