gemasita - How's it going for you? I'm on the other side of things, I'm close to over-stimulating and I can't say that it's better than to be on the under side of things.. it may cause for me to have to skip this month.. I have mixed up feelings of maybe it's just not meant to be and then the why not us, this is so unfair.. all this for nothing? Sorry, a little bit of self-pitty.. I'm more scared of dissapointing my hubby who's been so patient and wonderful through all this. I'll try to stay possitive.. It's not over yet!!

Hey all! Checking in to see how everyone's cycles are going!

Cincynana - did you have your ER? How did it go? Details?

Our Time - Any more news on your estrogen levels? I hope you don't have to skip this month, that'd be sad! Try to stay positive, even though I know it must be hard. Sometimes attitude can make a world of difference! *hugs*

How's everyone else's cycle going? I just took my last bcp on the 15th, waiting for some semblance of af before my baseline/bw/ultrasound/another trial transfer on friday. Sending everyone good vibes!

Hello Everyone!! Good Morning.. ;P I stayed possitive and the great news came, I got the "OK" call last night, yeay!! My ER is tomorrrow!!! So excited! Thanks for all your good wishes and prayers. I'm so happy that after 6 years, we are so close to a real opportunity at getting PREGNANT!! This was wonderful news for our family, hope tomorrow is just as successful!
cyncynana - How's life after ER? What to expect? Mine's tomorrow and I'm sooooo nervous!!
I will definitely chime in to post thoughts, during and after.. anything that can help ease the nerves, curiosity~~ My ET is still to be determined, it can be as early as 10/21 or latest 10/23..

Hey everyone!
Sorry I haven't checked in sooner. dh is off work this week, so things have been busy. The er was a breeze. I had some cramping afterwards, but was back to normal on Tuesday. Tomorrow (Thursday) is the transfer. We had 6 retrieved, 5 fertilized (we did icsi). Hopefully all 5 are doing their thang and we'll put back 2 and freeze the others. That's my hope.

ourtime~ Good luck tomorrow! Prayers and good retrieval thoughts going out to you

Hope all of you are doing well! I've been thinking of you all and hoping for the best for all of us. Yippee!!! This is so exciting!!!

Yeah, no problem! I did a trial transfer when I had my hysteroscopy, then another when they made sure the luminaria was all out (because it got stuck), and they've scheduled me for another on friday. I think they're trying to get as much practice in as possible because I have a tilted uterus, and my cervix(?) goes straight a bit longer than other women's before it curves upward, so they're not used to it. They also want to make sure I'm still slightly dialated from my hysteroscopy/dialation. They couldn't do the trial transfer in September because they couldn't get the catheter in, which is why I had to have the hysteroscopy/dialation. If they can't get it in again, then they may have to do another hysteroscopy/dialation before ET. But hopefully all will go well and I won't have to get dialated again. If I do, it shouldn't delay anything (it didn't any of the other times), it would mostly just be a bit of a hassle going in and getting more anesthesia.

Cincynana - Congrats! Hope everything goes well at your ET tomorrow! That's a really good number that fertilized! Hopefully you'll have some to freeze too! Keep us updated!

ER completed

All is ok ladies!! I am happy to report we had 25 folicles and were able to retrieve 23 eggs!! I hope that this brings us closer to our dreams. The procedure itself was pt no pot more than 1/2 hr. We checked in at 8am (1hr early) our apt time was at 9am. The short version of the events are; checked in, everything off, put on the robe and not so lovely blue cap,go lay down, I had on on very awesome nurse! She gave me a warm blanket and hot pack to help with the swollen abdomen and overall easing of nerves. Then the anasticialogist (sp?) Came in and hooked up the IV, Dr. Came in and gave the any overview as to what they expect will happen, all routine stuff. Then 10 mins later they come get me, we walk to the OR and they hook me up. They give me some oxigen and the doze that puts me to sleep. Was on on very quick 30 mins. I wake up in my room and come out of it very slowly and not feeling ill. The real recovery is one at home and all the good meds wear off. Felling good! Very excited, can't wait!!!! ET is either Sun or Tue!!

OurTime~ Wow!!! What a great number. Are you doing icsi or letting them do their thing in the dish? Hopefully your lap will turn down the lights and play some romantic music for them! Just kidding Let us know your fertilization report!

I'm going to start some projects to keep my mind off of all this waiting. Yesterday while I was on couch rest, I watched a Project Runway marathon, so it has me inspired to do some sewing. I have a lot of patterns that I've ordered over the past year, plus TONS of fabric, so I think I'll get started on some things to keep me occupied. And hopefully I won't get to wear any of the things I make b/c I'll have a nice pg belly. A girl can hope!

Good Morning to you ALL!!

We got our first lab report back this morning... looks good! Out of the 23, 22 are good, but only 18 fertilized , I'll take it!!! There are 7 good and 11 Fair.. sounds so good!! We did ICSI! My dh has been ref. to me as his little "chicken" due to the large volume in egg count.. we need some humor, so I've been letting it go.. I love seing him so full of hope and excited. So next lab eval is tomorrow afternoon, hope all stays good. Looks like they may recommend a 5 day ET, I'm ok with it, whatever gives us the best possibility we'll do!
Day2 after ER and still feeling very heavy (inside) as well as swollen, they said due to qty, it may be a bit longer before I start better.. not too bad, I'm back at work. Since they don't know for sure what day my ET will be, I've taken next week off from work, hope I don't drive myself nuts. I'll definitely catch up with my photo albums, I'll have plenty of time to get these organized. Best wishes to you ALL!! Sticky babies, sticky babies!!

Hi cincynana! Glad transfer went well! (and what better of a marathon to watch during your time off!) When is your beta?

I start Lupron on CD 21. Just waiting for AF to show(Nov 1st maybe...) Know any tricks to speed her up?

I LOVE that show! I cna't wait for the new season to start

Try ginger for af. I was waiting (and waiting) a couple of cycles back. I had ginger tea and started the next day. Worth a try?

My beta is Nov 1. It sounds so far away with it being (barely) in the next month.

Hey cincynana~thanks for the ginger tip. Just so happen I have some ginger at home and can improv a tea out of it, I'm sure.

re: down time? Was it 36 hours of nothing, then another 36 of limited movement? I LOVE PR~it's a show I came to by default~my friend and her daughter watch and I got hooked!

I was wondering about the meds...did you gain weight? I have read that is a side effect and am trying now to drop a few just in case (need to drop more than a few in gerneral, but not really the focus at this point, IFKWIM.)

About the meds - I didn't gain any weight (so far), but that could be due to the metformin. I've lost 20-25 pounds on the met since I started taking it in august, but I haven't noticed any gain from the bcp or the lupron. We'll see with the gonal-f and menopur.

The trial transfer went awesome, thanks for asking! The trial transfer is just where they practice the embryo transfer. That way there aren't any problems that could have been avoided (like me needing to have been dialated), while they have the embryos in their hand. So its just a practice run, but its very important. It went very smoothly, which is great in and of itself, but not having to get dialated again is a godsend! If I weren't already crunchy, that totally would've turned me crunchy! The body does NOT like dialating before its ready!!!! (i.e. with no hormones saying "dialate!"). The baseline went well too. My ovaries were quiet and my lining wasn't too thick. It looks like we'll get a good number of follicules forming. My estradiol was a little high tho. I guess they want under 100, and I was slightly over 100. My RE said she's not that concerned about it though because my ovaries were quiet and my lining looked good. I started stimming today. I have to split the shots up tho. My arms are starting to get sore! Dh did the lupron in my arm, and the menopur and gonal-f in my thigh. The menopur is the worst by far! It stings so bad when it goes in!!! Not to mention its the most complicated out of all the shots I have to take beause you have to mix it. And I found it kinda hard to get the vials off the q-cap. The gonal-f pen is definitely the easiest shot I have to take. No real measuring, just turn the dial and inject! Easy enough. I have my next baseline/bw on the 25th, then every day between then and ET (my re's thinking it will definitely be the 30th or 31st). So everything is on track and going great.

How's everyone else's cycles doing? How were the ETs?

Hello all. My ET day is set for 10/22, how exciting!! Last night Ihad on on horrible night, I was in so much pain, so much direct pain on my right ovary side. I was buckled over in pain even with the vicodin and heat pad!!! I called the Dr and they said it was normal if there was pt no pot fever or bleeding. I feel better today but they also said that due to stimulation my ovaries can refill themselves until body absorbs the extra liquids back which can take 2-3 wks!!! Best wishes to all!!!

devilish~ Try putting the water vial in the fridge while you get the rest of your supplies ready. That's what I did, and it seemed to take the sting out. I'll agree that the gonal pen is soo much easier. That's what I used for iui's. The monopur was a pain! I'm glad the trial transfer went better this time around.

ann109~ I had to do bed rest just the day of the transfer and was allowed normal activity the next day. My RE seems very liberal with the rest time. They even told me that I could rake leaves this weekend. dh doesn't know this, so I'm letting him stay with the vacuuming, heavy lifting, etc. But we did go to the zoo today and walk alot. It felt so nice to get out. Even though I'm allowed normal activites, I've been relaxing pretty much constantly since Thursday. I've also had some cramping and stabbing pains, so decided that I should keep it as low key as possible.

And for the weight gain...I've gained some weight while on the meds (I did 6 injects/iui cycles prior to ivf) I'm not sure if the weight gain was from the meds or from the fact that I also had such ovary pain that I was a little worried to do much exercise, so that's why I gained weight. I actually joined weight watchers for a month and lost about 7 pounds. I joined b/c I didn't think that I could do our ivf cycle until Jan. But, I'm glad that I lost that weight. It was strange doing ww though. I had been somewhat involved in our local Nourishing Traditions group. I had visions of Weston A Price rolling in the grave knowing that I was drinking skim milk

ET day tomorrow!!!

Hello all, hope everyone's doing well. It's been a few slow days,aside from Sat painful evening-night. All seems to good to be true, can't believe this is really happening to us, it feels like a dream and soon I'll be awaken from it. To think we've been on this path to ttc for the past 6 years and here we are, 1day away from ET and all our faith will be tested. I hope all goes well for us for ALL of us, this has been a very exciting year and we're very THANKFUL at the opportunity that has been made available to us. We hope to be successful pt no pot matter what the outcome may be! Best wishes to you all. I'm in a dif place than I was before, I'm scared and happy and so excited to have made it this far. To be honest, when we were told that we would need help ttc i felt like such a loser, I felt that God must not think me worthy or worse a bad mother to be given the blessing of having kids. I know now that this is not the case, I learned that we are all tested and sometimes what we want the most is not the easiest to obtain, it's what you work the hardest for! Thanks to you all for providing on on place were we can talk openly about my worries and fears!! I have on on few very good friends that support me and my dh but not going thru ivf keeps the on the outside of things and though I love em to death,your support is awesome! Ok enough of the mushy stuff.. I get my final call/lab call today-should find out what time tomorrow is my ET!! Best wishes to you ALL!!
Cyncinana- I've heard that during implantation you sometimes feel cramps and burning,hope that means you'll have good news coming soon!
