Affirmations CD's? Alternative to hypnobabies?

I can't afford the hypnobabies stuff - even the used copies are $75.
I wondered if there were affirmations CDs out there that you can listen to on their own, or maybe if the VBAC hypnobabies CDs could be used on their own. I know it's really not the same thing, but it just sounds so helpful.

I really want to succeed, and am frusterated that this stuff costs so much.

thx.

The VBAC Hypnobabies CD is affirmations specifically for VBAC so I think that would be a nice option. You might ask them about their Joyful Birthing Set ($40ish), too, or explain your financial situation and see if they can make arrangements that will work for you. Kerry is very approachable and helpful and she's certainly not in this to get rich. Their number is 714 898-2229.

There are some books that your library might have:
Mind Over Labor by Carl Jones
HypnoBirthing: A Celebration of Life by Marie Mongan (the newest version comes with a hypnosis cd)

Self study can work well if you commit to it. I wrote a post on the three main aspects of success using hypnosis here:

I read your post when you originally posted it and found it very helpful! (most people who post just say generaly that it worked for them or whatever without actually saying what worked for them.)

I was thinking of putting an add in the TPISO offering $50 for a set and see if anyone would be willing to sell it. But I thought that would be rude because they always sell for $70 or more.

Maybe I'll check the library for it, it seems silly to buy it when I only need it for a short time.

I used this CD, the guy was recommended by Dr. Weil. I listened to it every night for the last 2 months of pregnancy or so.

I bought the CD here: http://cdbaby.com/cd/gurgevich18

This one is not a hypnobirthing CD but a wonderful guided relaxation that I appreciated a lot in pregnancy. It has 2 versions - one for pregnancy and one to be used in final weeks/days and/or in labor. Both versions come on the same CD.

Journeying Through Pregnancy and Birth

It's only 17 bucks!
