Anyone with a baby girl have this happen?

My little baby is having what is apparently withdrawl bleeding. My doctor told me this normal and caused by a withrawl of my estrogen. I've read a little about this but my older dd didn't have this problem.

Did any of your little girls have this? If so how long did it last? Ruby is 9 days old now and there are still spots of blood on her diaper. It doesn't seem to bother her but I feel bad for her.

With DD1 it only happened once or twice. With DD2 it didn't happen at all. FWIW little boys can have it too.

hmm...it happened w/dd1 a few times. not so much w/dd2- she just had a funky looking white discharge for a few days.

didn't happen here, but my mw did tell me it could and called it "pseudo-menstruation".

Yes. I could have sworn that I told dh about the possibility, but he didn't remember. He changed her first bloody diaper and had this terrified look on his face. I just said, "Oh, that's normal. It happens to some girls."

My girl had it, along with the white discharge. It cleared up at about two weeks and she didn't seem to be bothered by it.

My mom said that it happened to me when I was born. The doctor told her it was normal and it just stopped, I believe, around the first week or so.

Thanks everyone! I knew that it could happen but it was just kind of shocking to actually see. I really appreciate hearing your experiences.
