Good news about baby boys growth and u/s results. I bet you will feel better after the one you are having this week. Stuff that baby full of protein! I am also glad that you are feeling better about your midwife and that she is being more supportive. What did Soleil weigh? Do they really think this babe is less than 5 lbs?
So sorry that you are still on bedrest. Boy, it is great though that your bp responds so nicely when you are lying down. I am with Mamsoleil, maybe you want to ask the doc why you will be on bedrest for 3 more weeks? I think full term is anywhere from 37-42 weeks? Congrats for making it this far!
|DH is still remodeling with every minute he has. Charlie needs his attention. I need him to focus with us and I am feeling very sad and hurt about this. It is nearly 8 p.m. and we have not had dinner, he has not showered and I am hearing staple guns in my ears behind me. It will be great and beautiful but baby is due a teeny bit more than two weeks. Send me positive vibes cuz I am feeling sorry for myself at the moment.
I feel your pain! We are remodeling, too, though we are in the homestretch now. It is as if dh comes home from work and works on the house (read: no break for mama.) It has been this way throughout the pregnancy; we moved into this house in Dec.
I know he is making our nest perfect for me, but what I really want is for him to offer to take dd for a bit so I can take a long relaxing bath (like, maybe 15 minutes?) I ALWAYS have to ask. He is great with her and plays when he gets home, but then it is time to work and it isn't always safe for her to be around what he is working on....
This soup recipe is chock FULL of protein, very easy and quick, and was great postpartum with our dd. It freezes well.
1 envelope taco seasoning
1 can dark kidney beans
1 can pinto beans
1 can black beans
1 jar salsa
1 can corn
2 cans water
1 lb. or ground turkey or beef
Brown the meat. In a crockpot or large soup pot, add meat and all remaining ingredients. Bring almost to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for as long as needed! (Read: for a quick birth, it is ready to eat when heated through. Or, it can simmer all day if you won't need it until later!) Note: If freezing soup, simply freeze after all ingredients are mixed. No need to bring to boil.
Serve with tortilla chips and top with sour cream and cheese.
Note: If you are vegetarian, simply leave out the meat, there is plenty of protein anyway.
This is not a cold soup, but it is going to be 102 this weekend where I live. It is so yummy we will make it during the heat next month anyway!
I know this post is super long, but AGAIN
: it is 3:45 am and I am wide awake! How are you other mamas getting any sleep? Pavlina, I know you aren't!
