Kool-Aid dyeing silks help!

I want to dye some playsilks with my kids BUT I do not want them using Procion dyes--I do tie-dye as my WAHM biz so I know the dangers and all that. So I was thinking kool-Aid dyeing would be fun for them

How do I do this? I know I have seen other Mamas talk about it but I am not entirely sure how to do it and make it color-fast (is it colorfast?). Any links or can anyone just give me some concrete instructions?

do you make these playsilks yourself? I don't have any koolaid help just curious if you're making them and if so how do you do it?

There are at least 2 threads with detailed instructions, just do a search on kool-aid. I'm going to give this a try too and ordered some silk scarves from thaisilks.com. They seem to be cheaper than dharmatrading.com.
