Low overhead businesses for WAHMs

I thought I'd start a thread on what businesses WAHMs can do, have done or are planning on doing with very little startup expenses.

The one I've done over the years (wasn't a mom for most of them but have done this as a mom) is yoga teaching. I think any sort of teaching would be great because you can easily start up without spending a bundle. The problem I have with it is that teaching is mostly done in the evening or weekends, and I am not willing to be gone from my family (or tied up teaching at home)at those times.

What other things have people been doing?

I am cutting my costs by offering some WAHM's the products I will carry that have a high min. order at cost It helps them, helps me build a client base, and helps me keep my start-up costs low

I don't know. Most of the stuff I do is from home from web work to sales, but it still takes away form evening and weekend family time. There is not really any avoiding that?

Consulting is eve-weekend time but you have your own choice of WHICH eve and weekends. Maybe consider that?

I'm not really looking for a job myself, I just thought this would be an interesting discussion- the things moms have done with low overhead.

Got ya !
Now we're on the same page!

:LOL

Well, I started with low overhead because I didn't have any! LOL
I bought the minimum orders for wholesale and ordered more as I ran out.

I did free advertising and search engine placements in the begining and a lot of auction advertising

I made my own catalogs and printed them at home

hmm...that's all I can think of off hand!
