Clomid and Cysts?

Has anyone had cystic structures appear after a cycle of clomid? Our RE found cysts on DP's left ovary that werent there before and didnt want us to go thru with the IUI this month. To all this has happend to: Did you continue with meds again next available cycle or stop forever? Did cystic structures disapear? If not then what? Skip everyother month?:

If i remember correctly it is fairly common and the reason why they skip the IUI is the cysts can give off estrogen which can throw off the cycle. Did they want to do a blood test at some point to check estrogen and progesterone levels? My RE refered to them as basically empty follicles and that they should disappear by next cycle.

good im glad to hear its somewhat common. My dp didnt tell me if she has to have blood work done. I will ask her if they mentioned that. I didnt know that about throwing off the cycle...that puts me at ease.

This happened to me when I was on clomid. Unfortunately, I wasn't monitored until the 3rd month, and by then my ovaries were covered with cysts and there wasn't any room for new follicles. I just had to take time off for them to subside. Have her do an ultrasound on cd1,2, or 3 to see if they have subsided before resuming clomid. You might also inquire about other drugs if this happens again. I responded better with femara than I did with clomid, but there are other drugs in addition to clomid and femara that might be considered.

I know how frustrating this is. We were scheduled to do our first IUI when I found out about our cysts. Because I had so many (15-20 per ovary), I had to wait 6mo before resuming treatments.
