I am truy not trying to be negative, but if you were to have an emergency situation and need assistance, do they have emergency personnel near you? Ambulance, EMT's, sheriff, etc...

She has mentioned before that there is a medivac and that is what will happen if a neighbor calls the medics on her (besides cps, etc...) so if I understand correctly there is emergency transport, but the situation would have to be really bad for it to be worthwhile. (it would also be at her own expense I think)
I am sure she (and all of us having uc's) have considered the possibilities in case of an emergency.

Sorry...i don't visit this forum often so I wasn't familiar with her story.

Happy Happy Update!!!

YAY!!!: (just assuming babe is happy too)

Dh called this morning and told me the following conversation had transpired just minutes earlier (greeting excluded for brevity ):

Dh: I will not be returning to K-city next week. Friday will be my last day and I'll begin taking on load in P-town (home) starting Monday. My wife is term and I will not continue to leave my family alone up there, for any reason. You can send the guys you've been sending north to work in my stead there if you still need someone to help with their program.

G- manager: Okay.

Then work-related discussion. That was it. Nothing else. Dh had some clout this time though, since he's actually concluded all the training activities, including certification, and has shown his competence on the job there, so G would have a hard time trying to show that dh wasn't ready to come back, if he tried.


Sooooo, I received sooooo many pms!!! All full of love and support and now that I know what will be happening here, I guess everything is going to be fine! They wanted him to continue until the end of October, so this is such sweet relief! I now have most of what I think I'll need, but I'm still not completely prepared. I am hoping to work on that tomorrow. As for babe, s/he is still in there and having a party these days (usually from 12midnight until about 2AM NIGHTLY), and I am having more and more early labour signs. I think I feel relaxed enough now that I can birth with peace next week if it's time- I even feel fine with this week while dh is away because I know he'll be back and able to help me and be here with us on a normal schedule in just a few days now.

I really love this forum; it's been my sanity since I found it not too long ago. Thank you all so much! I don't know if I'll end up responding to every pm (I hope nobody feels put out- I am truly so grateful for your support and compassion ).

So, yay! I'll be fine! I'll be just fine.

I've been so worried for you and your family, I'm so happy to hear that everything so-far has turned out well. I'm happy that your DH gets to come home! Seperation is hard enough with out being almost due!! YEAH for you all! :

I am SO freaking proud of your DH, btw. It takes such guts for a man to stand up to his employers and say "hey, I'm a dad and this counts too." He rocks.

that is great!

i think it's great how your husband asserted himself, rather than asking for permission, he simply told his boss how it was going to be. it's a great way to work, honestly.

Just read through this thread...I'm so happy for you that dh will be returning now! I also wanted to throw out there, if you can - let your kids watch some good birth videos, so even though dh will be there now, there aren't really surprises as such. They don't have to know that you'll be doing it at home (until the time comes), but just that THAT is what happens. My girls (5 and 3) LOVE birth videos That's about all I let them watch...
Rambling on...anyway, I look forward to reading your birth story.
