Never tried it, never will.

I hate shaving my legs. Like I'm going to get hair ripped out of that area??

I could never get over the stripping down and spreading it for a stranger thing.

YES. if i could afford it. i HATE body hair. i shave most of my body hair as it is.

I'd rather have a massage, but then again, I'm not that hairy and I'm not the bikini-wearing type.

Shaving gives me a horrible rash... and I like the way it feels waxed. Stubble sucks. I don't go totally bare, though, I leave a little triangle or landing strip.

I find it's embarrassing when they wax the, uh, backside.

It hurts less and less the more times you have it done, and I take ibuprofen before I go (I'm a big baby). It only costs around $40 at the place I go to, and they do tons of brazilians. One esthetician told me she did 14 in one day!

And I absolutely disagree with the recommendation to do it at home. Not for me - I tried waxing my own legs a couple of times and it hurt way more and took much longer. At the spa I get lower legs and a brazilian in 30 minutes.

I am so intreguided. Hmmm......would have to do it at home.

:

Maybe we could start a virgin brazilian waxing tribe. We could support eachother through the fear.

I got one last year (or was that earlier this year? Can't remember...), and it was fine, wrt pain. I mean, shoot, if you can stand labor and childbirth, you can stand a brazillian.

Yeah, it hurt, but not bad, and I was very pleased with the results. I am not flexible/gifted enough to do my own at home.

I am going to get one again before this baby is born.

As for the embarassing factor, I got over it in about 30 seconds. My esthetetician was really nice.

too embarrassing for me!

I find it disturbing. The lack of hair....so not my style!

I trim a little 'round the edges, but I think it's nice and grown-up ladylike to have hair there. If I had the spare time and bucks, I'd have the edges tidied up by waxing though.

If they are inside of you, they are doing it wrong.

I'm just sayin'!

I get regular bikini waxes but I don't want to take it all off. I think it's good to show signs that I've passed puberty.

ETA: I just re-read my post and it sounds like puberty is a class... I think I probably only got a C

I find it disturbing, as well, that it's basically become the norm among younger women, and it is portrayed in mens' media as the only acceptable option. I also have a big problem with its connotations and implications for what men are being programmed to desire.

I don't do it. I shaved in college, it sucked, it itched, I won't go back. As for the "some partners don't like to pick hair out of their teeth", well, I don't much like picking hair out of MY teeth, either, but I would never ask my partner to modify h/h body to suit my hangups about hair.

Oh, would that there were an appropriate MDC smiley for this. Heh.

On second thought, I think I may even have stretch marks in my crack. That could be really uncomfortable.

I loved the "shaved" look! Then again, I have OCD and cannot stand pubic hair. It just feels uncomfortable. : I'm too much of a wussy to wax it all off, so I just shave it, and have been doing it since oh...four years ago? No problems with rashes yet, but I do have the occasional ingrown hair.

Looking like a 9 year old squicks.me.right.out. It's disgusting.
