i found the yummy sounding recipe for this on MDC. it seems like a lot of people have made it and given rave reviews. i plan on making it for our autumn equinox party, but has anyone ever made it in the crock pot? how do i adapt it? TIA!

yes, honey baked lentils (maple sounds great too!), right?

I've made that recipe so much - I've done both oven and crock pot. I didn't do anything differently for the crock pot.

I like to add extra veggies to the recipe though - carrots and sweet potatoes are really yummy!

This is the recipe I mean.

What would you serve this with? Does it go over rice? Thanks

It is good over rice

Instead of that though, I usually make it with the added veggies baked in (carrots and/or sweet potatoes) and serve with a huge pile of cooked greens. I make homemade cornbread and roast some chicken thighs to go with it. The chicken is just extra - it can stand as a meal without them - but we like leftovers so this stretches everything a bit.

I'm sure there are many ways to have it! It is my favorite lentil recipe - yum!

I made a recipe like this but somehow didn't taste so good. I usually love lentils so I want to try it again. I must have done something wrong. Are you guys using red or brown lentils?

For this recipe, I use brown lentils.

nak-
we had it last night (added some rice, a little extra water, and did a mix of agave/maple syrup) served over 1/2 a baked sweet potato for each of us. :
