Anyone willing to donate preemie and/or nb prefolds... - Page 2

Mel~ Bumping this up again... I've got a load of laundry in the washer now (infant prefolds, crib sheets, blankets, etc) for you. Could you pm me your address so I can send it off?

Also, do you think it would be more cost efficient to send things directly there, instead of shipping them to you and then shipping them overseas? Or would it be easier to send one big box from you? LMK... I'll have the box ready in a few days.

infant cereal, unopened: yes! I just sent one box of it off in a large box of stuff a few weeks ago. It's so lightweight that it's cost-effective to ship.

sending stuff directly to Ukraine yourself: it's MUCH more cost-effective for me to be the gathering point, unless you're sending 30lbs or more.

bassinet sheets--I don't think they use them--they just put 3 kids in a crib.

i'm sending the packages as i fill them, but not until after aug. 1. so mamamoo, send it off if you can!

I am swimming in diapers today! Thanks so much to punkinbutt.com and Mother of Eden/Fuzzibuns! I received 48 CPFs from punkinbutt.com and 204 CPFs from Mother of Eden!

I would like to thank all the folks who donate by including you on our "loving hearts" page at Abrah.org, so when you mail anything in, just include a note with your name and hometown, or "anonymous" if you want to stay that way.

If you're a small business or corporation, we'll provide a link to your website on our page. I want to be able to acknowledge everyone who donates.

You mamas are soooooooooo generous!

Many thanks,

Mel

I wanted to let you know I am getting a bunch of stuff from the mamas in my 2 playgroups here, and will probably end up just sending the package straight to the orphanage, I'm pretty sure it will be over 30 pounds, I even have a couple of mamas willing to help me with the shipping!! Thanks for the info on this mama!!

Melanie it is so wonderful that you are doing this! I sent them some stuff to babymarketplace in Canada and I can only imagine what a 'gift' you are giving in the shipping alone!

Are you in the US or Canada as well?

Next time I meet up with some moms I will bring this up, because I had so much stuff that I didn't need it was unreal. I am sure they can help these little ones out some more!

What about sleepers and clothing? I am getting my package ready right now with preemie prefolds and about a dozen velcro PUL covers and some receiving blankets......but I have a bunch of sleepers and stuff too? Is that okay?

A few more thank yous to add:

pb_and_j
A. in Vero Beach, FL
J. in Philadelphia

One of the moms who works on this project just went to Berezka, Boyarka (both in Kiev) and Antoshka and Roschitsa in Kramatorsk, and said that the diapers are really, really anticipated. Also, in addition to Kherson (the place I'm collecting for), Antoshka has a desperate need for bedding as well. Thanks to all who have helped--and if I've forgotten you, PLEASE PM me and let me know! And if you want to send stuff, please PM me!

If you live in Canada, by all means check out http://www.thebabymarketplace.com

She has a "Aid for Orphans" page where you can learn in depth about the need and where you can send things to a Canadian address or donate $ to feed the babies. $5 a month gives a baby under 18 months an extra 2 feedings a day--the difference between just enough and malnutrition.

Thanks folks--you have such kind hearts!

BTW, on the diaper collection, we're now at 212 covers and 392 diapers! Goal is 200 covers and 900 diapers for Kherson. I'm still collecting covers for other orphanages, and of course still collecting diapers.

what about baby clothing? coats? sleepers? and what kind of food? packaged pasta? bisquit mix? is this worth sending? i might end up with 30 lbs of stuff to send myself!
OK I'm confused... can we just go to the site and ship stuff directly to the orphanage? or do we have to ship to the "organizer" in Oregon? or ship to you?

sorry i'm so dense... but i have sooooooooooooooooo much stuff i could send, cpfs, clothes, etc... i just want to do it in the most efficient way possible.

thanks!!

That slide show - well, it was hard to think of anything else the rest of the night the first time I saw it! And yet, I was thrilled to see the place looks well kept for what they have.

i noticed that too, heather. the orphanage looked very clean!
the photo's of before and after are just so sad. it crushes me to think of babies going without full tummy's and learning to live with soiled bums....and the thought of cutting back feedings for less diaper changes just tears me up! our babies are so so so so lucky.
yeah id love to send some stuff out. i have a two lb bag of animal cookies id like to throw in, but do they accept food items?

I would like to donate all my snappis(NIP) and some UBCPFs. Can I also donate other non diaper relaed items? We have clothes up the wazoo and all kinds of stuff you wouldn't believe. I also have a bunch of small tushies we never used.
I'll pm you when i get it all together.
