What are the differences between these three? I know about wool flannel and jersey.

I believe wool crepe is not stretchy and wouldn't make a good cover(could be wrong though) the other's I don't know, but I know the majority of WAHM's use wool flannel and wool jersey, they tend to be much softer, and have some stretch to them

Wool crepe is really thin, and not very soft. Sort of like a womens wool suit. It does not felt at all.

Wool melton is generally heavy and stiff. I believe it's also a wool/acrylic blend usually.

Wool coating can make a great single layer cover. Just look for something very soft. No need to "felt" it, unless you want to machine wash. You won't lose very much yardage, as it doesn't shrink all that much.

Okay... my head is spinning with all these fabrics and thier uses.
Can these wool fabrics be used as diaper covers? and what is felting? and these are 100% wool?
plus wool flannel and wool jersey what are these? AND>>>
out of these wools, what is the best to use or maybe what are the pros and cons to each?
Lens Mills is having a big clearance sale on fabrics, so I would like to get in and buy some bfore they are gone.
To anyone who can take the time to answer even one of my questions THANKS

Wool flannel and jersey both make good covers, jersey is a bit stretchier than flannel. Felting is when you wash on hot and dry on hot, it gets fuzzy, the hairs lock together and it shrinks a ton Helps to make the cover waterproof(do it before cutting the fabric)

You'll ahve to ask the co. if they are 100% wool, jerseys are sometimes 95% wool and 5% lycra and will NOT felt right, so stay away from those.

http://www.fabrics.net/wool.asp This gives a lot of good info on wool. I HAVE felted Crepe wool and it is pretty soft and does nicely for a cover( it has a very slight stretch). It is thin so needs doubling up for extra protection but so is Jersey wool. Make sure what you get is always 100% wool or it won't felt up well.
