Okay, it's long overdue to post about Madison Faith's arrival, but with her being #5 and a special needs 2 1/2yr old it has been none-the-less hectic, exhausting well worth the wait!
She was born Sunday morning at 1:15am weighing 5lbs 15oz and 19 1/2" long.
I was supposed to be induced on that Friday but had to call every couple hours since they were real busy and delivering in triage as there was no beds available. I continued to call every couple hours throughout Friday and then started again on Saturday. By lunchtime I gave up. I told them to call me when they had a bed. I was getting worried since we had already had a nurse staffed for the entire weekend and the following week to care for our 2 1/2yr old and just knew our plans were just blown. Anywho, they call Saturday at 5pm and said for me to come in at 6:30pm. The pitocin was started at 8:45pm or so and I received my epidural (which only worked on my right side and was soooo painful to get!) then followed by the doctor breaking my water at 10:45pm. I laid for the last hour debating on whether to tell the nurse or not how much pressure I was feeling but just brushed it off and thought I would wait until it was unbearable before telling her, so I really should have said something at around midnight but I waited until about 1am. My BP dropped and I past out and was woke up by the nurse fidgeting with my IV and giving me meds to bring up my BP in between. It was 86/49. So I finally told her I felt intense pressure and she put on gloves to check me and you should have seen her face when she lifted the sheet, she dropped the sheet and call the doctor in. She was "right there" and I pushed one time once the doctor came in and there she was, screaming and kicking with all her might. So I was picked on about the fast labor, one push, only one dirty towel. It was such a relief to hear a screaming baby after having Jonathon who could not breath at birth and thus needed a tracheostomy. She is doing well and at her followup today she weighed 6lbs 1oz up from the day after birth which was 5.9, she eats like a pig so I can't understand how she hasn't gained more. She nurses constantly it seems or I am being used as a human pacifier! I do followup BF'ing with a bottle as I pump to bring my supply back up after latch on issues and engorgement. But here are a couple pictures and we are amazed at how much she looks like the 3D u/s from 28 weeks. My 5yr old was amazed at her cry the first time he heard her and when I told him she was getting hungry he looked around the hospital room and asked "Well, where's her feeding pump?" My eyes welled up with tears as I told him that she was fortunate not to need one like Jonathon.

BTW, I am so happy! I weighed today and lost 13lbs since her birth! Only 10 more to go to be at my pre-pregnancy weight of 120lbs. YIPPEEEEEEE
