So, am I the only one who's terrified to have a bm? It's been 5 days, and I'm really REALLY freaked out about the stitches pulling, and all that good stuff.

Plus, i've heard horror stories.

Anyone have any advice to make me feel better?

yes my advice is this,. when you have to go, get a wet wash rag, and hold it up to your perinium while you slowly...let it out. This has always worked for me. ( I had an eposiotomy with my first and tear to some degree every birth since...)

Take your time, don't bear down alot or any if you can help it and make sure you are getting lots of fiber to help it come out better

With my first pregnancy, I was so terrified of my first BM more so than labor. I drank lots of prune juice till it came and then it turned out not to be that bad. I like the previous poster's suggestion too!

I was there too..

I made sure my diet was sooooo high in fiber, so there would be no straining. Honestly, I didn't hurt.. the only issue for me was hygiene..

(I actually put a drop of baby soap in my peri bottle and then really sprayed my bottom clean)

Mine was icky, but I did have a c-sec, so pushing the bm out was more difficult than it usually would be. Still, I thankfully did not end up with any hemorrhoids.

Last time I had mine the first or sec. day and it wasn't bad at all. Eat lots of fiber and drink tons of water if you are worried though. It prob. won't be as bad as you are expecting.

It's been 5 days! That seems like a long time to me. My 1st was at 2 days pp, and was not bad at all. I drank lots of water, but didn't do anything else to ease it out. Colace did seem to help the 1st time around, but I never got around to buying it this time.

Try not to worry, it's not nearly the same as pushing the baby out!
