New Midwife

Thread Starter
Is anyone out there a new midwife? I just passed my NARM exam and have applied for my license in Florida. I'm trying to figure out where I want to go from here. I thought I had something in the works but it isn't coming together. I've read on other threads about there being a shortage of midwives but it seems hard for a new midwife to get something started. Just venting a bit but would love to hear from other newbies.

Thanks

Congratulations!! I'm just starting out in school so I have a couple years before I'm where you are. Could you advertise in an alternative local newspaper, start a website or maybe call around and see if any midwives in your area need a partner or a backup? Maybe you could print out some flyers about yourself and distribute them in health food stores and libraries.

Good luck!

Not a newbie, but you may contact CharLynn Daughtry in central FL. There is definitely a midwife shortage down here! PM me if you want specifics! And: CONGRATS for passing the NARM!

Good luck getting started!
