I had 2 previous cesareans, both were attempted homebirths then this past January I had weight loss surgery, I have lost 120 lbs so far and my partner and I are discussing and looking forward to ttc next year. I was told by my surgeon that after wls there aren't many pregnancy complications, we'd just really have to watch what I eat to make sure the baby is getting enough of what it needs. My concern however is should I think about having an OB as back up care during my pregnancy besides my midwife? I know we will surely try for a homebirth and I am all about non intervention in pregnancy, but would having an OB as a secondary care provider be beneficial to me? I had an OB for back up with my last baby until I was 6 months along then quit seeing her because she never did anymore then what my midwife did, but given my situation I thought I'd ask for your opinions.
