Okay, my cousin just had a double lung transplant on Thursday. He's doing FANTASTICLY and we are VERY excited. DH met my cousin (actually my 2nd cousin) last year when we went on vacation to see my extended family and they really hit it off. DH and my cousin talk on the phone like once a week, they are buddies.

Well since he had the lung transplant (he has Cystic Fibrosis)...DH is fixated on going to CHICAGO from IOWA to visit him...I'm 34 weeks pregnant, by the time my cousin is up to having visitors I'll be 35 or 36 weeks pregnant. Not thinking I can travel 5 hours one way being 36 weeks pregnant. :

Why are DH's so clueless? I'm gonna make him happy and call my midwife on Monday so that when she says "NO, are you INSANE?" maybe he'll drop it.

Um...I'd let hubby go by himself! Iowa to Chicago does not sound like fun at 34 weeks...

DH's can be pretty dumb. Get them both digicams so they can see each other "in person". They can visit together after the baby is born and you are all settled. I'm so happy your cousin is doing so well! That's some MAJOR surgery!

LOL, I don't want DH going alone because then I'd worry about what happens if I go into labor and he's not here?

I've tried explaining that it's more than likely NOT going to happen (the car ride wouldn't be that bad, I don't mind being in the car) it's the distance that would be a factor.

He's now saying "Well, if we can't go we can't go. But if we can I'd like to." okay...dork...

It took a bit of pointing out dates and how many weeks I'd be and things like that for DH to come to the conclusion that, NO he won't be going on the week long hike to Havasupai at the end of October... no matter how great a trip and beautiful a place.
