chipped tooth, what can be done?

will it have to be capped? is there some way they can file it or fill in the part that is chipped?

dentist == scary! I want to know what I'm in for

How badly is it chipped?

I've chipped my front cap and my dentist is just going to "fill" it so you can't see the chipped corner. I'm not sure if it's the same for real teeth though.

My son chipped his front baby tooth and the dentist just filed that down but that was a baby tooth.

it's just a tiny chip - I actually chipped the tooth a few years ago and never had anything done to it because it wasn't that noticeable. I chipped it again last night and it still isn't bad but it's sharp.

Oh, I bet with a tiny chip the dentist will just fill it with that bonding material. My dentist told me he wouldn't even have to numb my mouth to do mine. So I'm sure it won't be bad for you.
