so if you had to write something controversial, what would it be about? - Page 3

depends what kind of controversy you mean...

very frequently, what I post in message boards is deemed "controversial" because of my tone. I tend to state things as if I believe they are fact, when I always assume whatever I say is my opinion.

if you're looking for hot-button issues, just to be a troll, to bait people, I'd go with sex, race, parenting, porn, or politics. Pretty obvious, though.

I also think baiting is too easy, frankly. You get people responding (yes, it attracts attention) who are just easily freaked out and distracted. Tougher, I think, to discuss "controversial" issues withOUT pissing people off but still taking a stand. Kwim?

I didn't read through all the posts so I don't know if these have been said but:

*Write about how global warming is a myth (I'm not saying it is, I am just saying there are people out there that say it is)

*Write about how socialized/mandatory health care in the USA is NOT a good idea

I think a good idea is to read the news and find things that say something like "84% of people feel that blah blah blah...." and then write about the OPPOSITE of that "blah blah blah" or how the blah blah blah is wrong or incorrect, etc...
Does that make sense?

Hmm...unassisted childbirth is pretty controversial in most areas. I'd also agree with the gay parenting issue.

To me, a controversial subject is parenting style...The longer I belong to this club of parenting, have mom friends, see more kids in the schools, my community, etc. the more I find that there is not a one style fits all. I've learned to be much more tolerant and understanding as my kids grow.

So...I'd hit all the "biggies" like BFing, religion, politics,to SAH or Work, diaper choices, methods of discipline, etc...and write it from the perspective that just because you do one of them and are passionate about it does not make it the right choice for everyone...stop the mommy wars so to speak. Appreciate and be proud of your own choices but don't try to go nazi and force them on everyone else--make sense? Stop being so judgemental and just be and enjoy...very zen.
