Olympic feats I performed today...

Thread Starter
I thought, in light of how difficult it is getting to work around our now-ginormous bellies, that I would start a thread entitled "Olympic feats I performed today." Please share with us all the things you did today that, in light of your current hugeness, have become impressive athletic events!

I'll start:

1. I managed to scrub my bathtub--this one is getting very interesting. My grandmother uses one of those scrubbers on a stick to clean her tub and I am seriously considering investing in one of those!

2. I managed to wash my face at the sink WITHOUT completely soaking my shirt at the belly!

Anyone else done anything impressive today?

I did dishes! DH has been helping out alot with dishes lately, but today I took them on. I had to turn sideways to reach into the sink, but I got them done.

DH has thrown his back out so I have carried a toddler, diaper bag and dessert to potluck without dropping anything (toddler was in the ring sling), as well as carried said toddler up the stairs several times (OMG is that hard - we have a somewhat divided staircase, in that there are 12 stairs, then a landing, then 3 more stairs. I can make it up the first 12 but I need to stop and sit and breathe a lot at that point. Fortunately by then DD has gotten the idea that we are going upstairs and will gladly go up the other 3 by herself.

I had sprinting and diving events today.

First, for just a moment I forgot I was pregnant. DS was up on my bed, being so cute and jumping then just lounging, out of breath... I had to pounce on him... totally belly-flopped next to him. Baby did NOT approve of my form.

Later, at the mall play area, DS decided he'd had enough and ran off to do some shopping. It's why I sit by the entrance/exit. He is FAST!!!!! I thought my pelvic bone was going to just snap loose in the 15 yards it took to catch up to him.

Oh, sure, make me look bad.

Today I did a lot of nesting! Cleaning and laundry galore, catching up on things that haven't been done in so many months.

I hope my energy holds out all week! I also drank a ton of liquids as it all made me very thirsty to be so active.

Sarah, I remember chasing my oldest thru the mall when I was pregnant and everyone just watched in amusement. No one thought to just simply step in front of him to stop him so his poor mama could catch up.

Even if they did, he's got mad running back skillz. He'd evade them.

I chased dd2 all around a synagogue during her morning art class and kept her out from under horse hooves before, during and after dd1's horseback riding lesson. She thinks that the sight of me chasing her is the most hilarious thing she has ever seen...:

I cleaned playdough off the floor four separate times (albeit with increased muttering each time). Oh, and painting water once as well.

I did my best imitation of a burro hauling my big pregnant self through a mall to a LLL meeting with my toddler on my back, a sackful of library books, a diaper bag, and my overstuffed purse.

I rolled over in bed at least a dozen times.

Then I got up. And now I'm here. At 4:30 in the morning. Groan.

I've survived the past 2 weeks on 2 or less hours of sleep each night because of heartburn and reflux so bad it is now making my esophagus bleed.

Any Dane Cook fans? I loved his acid spit routine until I got pregnant... now I *HAVE* acid spit, and... well, it's not so great.:

Got out of bed?

I hiked with my daughter's girl scout troop and went up and down stadium stairs till my legs were trembly.

I managed to keep the belly of my t-shirt clean *all day* yesterday! (no toothpaste drips, food, toddler boogies etc!) It seems like I constantly have "ring-around-the-belly", a ring of dirt that my enormous belly catches!

I went grocery shopping which is becoming an Olympic sport because I am too big to lean forward to put something in the cart- I have to get the item off the shelf, walk around to the side of the cart to put it in then go back to the front of the cart to push it down the next aisle. Navigating the aisle and unloading the cart at the checkout...well, that's a whole other story! I was too big to even reach the divider that separates your food from the pp behind you!
