Retractable Testicle

My ds#2 seems to have a retractile testicle. The pediatrician says he doesn't have an "undescended testicle". But then again I don't think he knows much about the penis to begin with. Which is why I want to stay with him. I feel obligated to educate him. He has asked me a few questions regarding my sons intact genitals. Its kind of sad. I do know of an intact pro-intact, anti-circ pediatrician that I can go to for a second opinion if it comes to that.

Sometimes it looks like ds#2 doesn't have balls. I read online that these things can resolve on its own by puberty. But if it doesn't then it could effect his fertility. Some literature claim an increase in cancer of the testes if its not corrected.

Should I be worried?

From what I have read as long as the testicle/s come down from time to time there isn't really a problem. I know with ds his will be high up and look gone when he is cold but when he gets in the bath they drop way down. The real problem comes when the testicle goes up into the abdomen and wont come down at all or very little.

That is exactly what his will do. His testes present themselves when he is in a warm bath. And they'll retract during when he is cold. Thanks for explaining that to me. I feel so much better.

My DS has this too. I haven't gotten a confirmed diagnosis, but most of the time his little "ball bag" looks empty. Occasionally I'm shocked that they really ARE there, but it's very rare.
