that must have been so tough to see.

and its sad how uneducated some parents are ("is it supposed to look like that?"...

You are very brave to have told them that, most people wouldn't have said anything. Congrats!!! That poor little one...yes, a bris is done on the 8th day or so.

Many awful things are done in the name of religion. Congrats for speaking up! You got guts!

Yes!

I'm not in a position to comment on Jewish faith -- but in my Christian community there are some who think circumcision is "Biblical," even though in the New Testament Paul writes that the new Gentile believers should not feel they need to get circumcised.

The New Testament makes it clear to Christians that God is no longer interested in outward circumcision, but in circumcision of the heart. I know this isn't a thread about religion -- just thought I'd throw this out there as an example of how sometimes things get distorted. It's sad when it results in a child being mutilated.
