Ahem...

Now that I'm off bedrest (woohoo!), DH is hoping for a little lovin'.

The idea is appealing, but I'm just not sure about the logistics of it. I mean, I'm as big as I was at term with DS and DD, and we weren't doing it at that point b/c I was so big and uncomfortable. I'd like to do it at least one more time before the girls are born...because who knows how long it'll be after that.

So, can we discuss? :

If you're feeling energetic (are any of us feeling energetic?) you can be on top. Otherwise, you can emulate our canine friends (isn't that nicely and Victorian-ly put?), which works well for us.

Between my husband's knee brace and my belly... well, someone on the "You know you're pregnant" thread said it best when they said you know you're pregnant when sex is like a slapstick routine.

what works for us -- a lot -- is spoon style. we cuddle, DH behind me, like we are two spoons in a drawer.......actually you have to work at the angle, now i think we make more of a V with my back to him.....this is a stand by of ours

and with Theo alseep in front of me (usally we do this before he jons us or in the other room, but not 100%) -- when he stirs (has never out and out woken up) i can rub his back with out stopping DH.

DH like the lazyness of getting to lay down too, and he doesn't have to hold himself off me.

Oral?

ETA: you could try you on your back at the edge of the bed and husband standing...

this works for us...

me on my back, DH holding my hips up or use a pillow under butt.. him on knees but not lying down on me so as not to squish belly.. ummm an extra "helping hand" (his or yours or BOTH) on your "girl part" isn't a bad idea! (battery operated appliance optional here!)...

That or you could always lend eachother or yourselves a helping hand or aforementioned battery containing device and just be in whatever position is comfy!!

creativity and a sense of humor is always a plus

one I don't recommend// standing in the shower.. NOT a good idea, trust me..
have fun!

Oh dear! That sounds like a concussion waiting to happen, given the third trimester sense of balance....

Have fun!

you on top, but facing his feet while he lays on his back? That's been best the last few times cause the angle for a lot of other positions is just too uncomfortable for me, dh or both. Dh likes this too because he doesn't have to feel "weird" that the baby is right there since he can't really see my belly. : Can you stand up and lean your upper body over the bed or are you too big already for that to be uncomfortable? Your dh would stand behind you (obviously).

I am just nodding all the way through this thread! I agree with all the posts. Those were all the ideas I had as well.

Laura (Isaac'sMa) has an interesting one. My husband calls it "Cowgirl Position" and I noticed it's comfortable in pregnancy too for some reason. It doesn't bump my cervix I guess?? Plus you might get some back rubbing at the same time

Slapstick is right though! I keep falling over when we're changing positions because I lean forward a bit and get too front heavy to stay upright since my center of gravity has changed. Plus I get dizzy during pregnancy sex. So with your even bigger belly, just change slowly and be ready for falling forward!

: These things are always better in theory, it seems. I am just not feelin' it this pg.

Lindsey I hope you have a great time.

The spoon thing is usually my favorite. I don't want to try the shower any more LOL. The other week I was a little discouraged because I could NOT get comfortable and I was worried that would be the end more or less until after delivery and like you said, who knows how long that will be. But thankfully, the next few times were better - DH does have to be more patient though for me to "get ready" and comfortable since I'm so not going to be in the mood if I've got aches and pains going on and a baby that's thumping away at me from the inside.

Anyway - like I said....hope you have fun!

GinaRae: changing positions! You're more talented than I am Haven't attempted that in a while. Once I get into a position that works, I'm not changing it - that would take too much effort and there is no guarantee that the new position will be as good as the one I was already in. LOL

Oops, you're right, that's what DH calls it too. I just call it his chance to look at my rear and rub my butt

I am feeling it here and there, but we just never get to it. Either he's not in the mood or I start thinking about the uncomfortable aspects of it and I just go to sleep.

One nice thing: I am assuming it's helped keep me from infections I usually am prone too while pregnant (bacterial and yeast).

I get muscle cramps or he's hitting my cervix or I can't breathe or he needs to change... one doesn't work very well!

Yeah, well I had both earlier this pg so that's part of the reason our sex life has dwindled so pathetically. Just last night dh was reminiscing (sp?) about our great sex life last time I was pg! Well, there's always next time, I guess!

Sorry Lindsey, we've totally de-railed your thread. I hope you've gotten some good ideas so far! (and a good laugh)

It would really creep me out if the majority didn't seem to be that way, eh?
