My feet are SOOOO swollen!

Anything I can do for it?? Obviously with a 2 y/o I can't just lie down, I gotta fix him lunch and play with him and all that other 'mama' required stuff.

I've NEVER had high blood pressure, never in my life. In fact I saw a new Dr. once and he tried to admit me to the hospital because he thought my blood pressure was too low (103/69...about typical for me).

I don't have a blood pressure tester nor do I have a car so I can't drive to Wal-Mart to use their tester...

I saw some white spots yesterday in the shower but it was only for a minute and it went away. Nothing today, except the computer screen looks a little blurry. I've put a call into my midwife and I'm waiting to hear back.

Any advice??

Is your face swelling? That's important.

Do you feel kind of sick? Like a general malaise that's worse thn how you felt before the swelling?

Just your feet doesn't have to mean anything, but is the swelling not disappearing at all when you're in bed for the night? That worries me. When I swell right now it goes away at night.

I am not sure about the spots either. I had blurry vision going on while I was sick a few weeks ago and it scared me, but I was reminded that we have visual changes during pregnancy.

There's a recent post here on the group giving advice to help clear away swelling.

Good luck!

They were very swollen last night before bed and I laid down for quite a while, the swelling just went from my toes being swollen also to most of it setteling in my heels and ankles...the tops of my feet looked semi-normal. This was with my feet propped up on a pillow, above my heart.

They stayed swollen overnight, DH checked first thing this AM when he woke up to go to work and they were still swollen...not as bad but still swollen.

I can't tell if my face is swollen or not...my undereyes are a bit puffy but that could be lack of sleep...

I called a friend of mine who also saw the same M/W (her baby is 7 weeks old now) and she said that it's only bad if I push on my foot and the dent stays...if I push on the side the dent stays for a couple seconds, long enough for me to pull away and watch the indent come out...kwim?

Still waiting on the call.

I don't have a car right now, DH locked his keys in his car, I have to call a locksmith yet...plus I don't have a carseat so I can't go anywhere to check my b/p.

Well, since your BP seems normal, that's good. I think you are trying to describe "pitting edema" which is when you push in and the dent stays or take a while to go back to normal. Try increasing protein and water and if you have compression hose you can wear those too (sexy, I know). Also, salting food to taste can help or just adding a little extra salt into your diet anyway can help since your BP seems ok/on the low side. I hope this gets better soon

ETA: even though you have to play with and monitor your ds, try to sit as much as possible and not be on your feet more than you have to. Books are always good...

My feet were quite swollen with my second DD. At about 39 weeks my bp ended up getting high and we induced...but prior to that there were no other symptoms, just swelling in my ankles/feet - no swelling in the hands or face, no headaches, etc.

I couldn't fit into my sandals anymore. I couldn't fit into my SIL sandals either and hers were a few sizes bigger than my normal. My oldest DD was almost 3 and had lots of energy and didn't even like to take a nap, but I would have her lie down with me for a while at least once a day. There really wasn't much else I did besides having DH massage my feet, they just sort of stayed like that. With my son, the swelling wasn't nearly as bad, but I liked soaking my feet in a foot bath. This time it seems like my feet get most swollen if I'm sitting for a long period of time. If I'm moving about it's not as bad.

Also wanted to say that if baby is really low in your cervix, it can affect normal lymph and blood flow from your legs (more pressure on vascular and lymph systems) ...so maybe baby is just low and that's what's causing the swelling. But I'd try the other stuff too cause it still might help.

Just got back from my m/w. BP is a big high for ME but still in the normal range (118/82) urine is good.

Supposed to eat more protein, drink lots of water, keep off my feet as much as possible, soak in the tub for 20 mins a day or else go to the pool (not completely feesable we do have a membership but their pool hours are weird during the school year)
