I was wondering if I could get some input from you all on this. Its too late in my pregnancy for me to find another provider, but the one I had until today basically said I was not welcome back because I was hesitant to get induced early or to take BP meds since my bp was not all that higher (its been < 10 pts lower than this most of pregnancy and nobody freaked out until today when conveniently I'm far enough along to induce)

I need to find a second opinion regarding blood pressures/vitals and the need for meds/early inductions. My stats are 150/100, no protein, bp 147/94 in April at my first OB appt and is generally about 135/85 at home, give or take 5 pts (I take it twice a week on a callibrated bp cuff).

I've been seeing the same practice since early in my pregnancy. I'm 37wks 3days today. I've always had blood pressure issues during pregnancy (and possibly outside of it (was 118/70 at the general practitioner where I learned that I was pregnant originally), and added severe hypercoat tension this pregnancy due to problems w/ my providers last pregnancy. My bp can literally go up 20 pts on top and 10pts or more on the bottom because of this... Outside of the OB office, I have no headaches (other than when I dont get enough sleep), no blurred vision, no stomach/kidney pains, no shaking, no nothing. Some swelling when I am on my feet too much, but otherwise I feel fantastic.

Last pregnancy I had a bp higher than this about a month earlier in the pregnancy even though my weight was lower last time, as well as having protein in my urine test, and had an "untested utereus". I never expected him to freak out like this (this is the first time that I have actually seen him because I had not intended to have him deliver me)

I have a script for Procardia in front of me, and am basically left atm with no provider (he is the 'boss' there and his tactics have made it impossible for me to imagine going back there). Even if I did follow his "plan" and somehow avoid the induction, I would only be able to see him because I'm not allowed to see the midwives if I'm taking BP meds, and he does not see that as an optional thing. I can't do a homebirth other than unassisted because midwives in SC are not allowed to take VBACs (even on tried utereuses) and have no idea how I could find another provider to cover my prenatal care for the next 2-4 wks even if I wanted to... so I come to you ladies for advice

Am I being too casual about my blood pressure?
Should I fill the script for Procardia even though I am not really able to go back there?

Any random advice?

I want to make the right decision, even if its not one I'm comfortable with.
