For those going to hospitals...

If you're taking cloth postpartum pads with you, are you going to rinse them in the bathroom sink or just fold them up and take them home? Any advice?

I am thinking if I do go to the hospital, I may take my cloth. Then again, maybe not. I don't have a ton and it would be nice to save mine for when I am home and let the huge disposable pads get the initial lochia.

I don't have any cloth pads. I'm only just trying cloth diapers with the new baby.

Sorry, no help here either. I've just decided to leave the CDs at home and I won't be using mama cloth.

I'm not doing a hospital this time, but I think if I were I'd wait on the cloth until I got home. I might bring one or two, or make sure DH knew where they were at home in case I found the sposies to be REALLY uncomfy and I didn't want to deal with them until I got home.

I'm just going to a birthing center, but I have no intention of using my cloth pads the first two days. I just bleed too much to care about washing that much cloth for myself. After the initial 2 days of bleeding, I will gladly use my cloth though. If I was going to the hospital, I would not take cloth.

We'll be at the hospital and I don't think that I will use them there. Just too much to deal with, but I will probably bring them just in case the hosp ones are too uncomfortable. Like the others, I think I will probably bleed too much the first two days to have it be worth the worry, esp since I won't be at home where I could easily launder them.

we hosptial birth and cloth the BABY not the momma.

That being said -- in intrest of hauling less stuff there and back -- and less disorder and mess to deal with as soon as i get home.... we do not cloth till we get home

However i do not see why you could lot rinse in the bathroom sink (or tub) and wring out, and put in a wet bag and then bring home and toss all in the washer -- you will be there only 48 hours post birth (if you stay that long). If you ran out you could use the hostpail disposable to you got home again.

My biggest thought would be -- you bleed soooo much that first day or two -- how many moomma clothes would you go though and so on -- I'd wait till i got home

We aren't going to be in the hospital that long. I'm holding off on the cloth pads.

Hopefully we'll be out of the hospital in 6-12 hours. I AM taking CD's with me, but not my MamaPads. I'll just use theirs. I'm packing a few Depends too just in case theirs are really uncomfortable like my last hospital birth.
It's just something I don't want to deal with in the hospital.

For my CD's, I am taking my wetbag. I'm bringing my cloth wipes too!
