We were on our trip (the last hurrah before the baby comes) and I had diarrhea in the morning- nothing major though. I had eaten a TON of veggies and protein and thought it was because of that. And DH and I had sex the night before. So, yesterday I was in a restaurant and tinkled. I got into the habit of wiping my front AND my bum and, in my paranoia, looking at the toilet paper afterwards for signs of blood. Well, yesterday there was blood. I tried to remain calm- after all, I didn't even know if it was coming from my hoo-ha or my butt. I wiped again and there was no blood. I went back to the bathroom 30 min later and there was no blood. There has been no blood ever since. I am going in for a non-stress test today and an ultrasound tomorrow so I am hoping all is well.

So, do you think it was from the sex? I am so afraid of placental abruption... I had my doppler with me and her heartbeat was fine and she is moving regularly. I wanted to call yesterday but figured there were enough reasons not to worry....

It could very well be from the sex. But it's still hard not to fret even when all the other signs are fine. Let us know how things go after the NST.

I spotted the day after sex the other day. You may have a very sensitive cervix. I do.

Please let us know what they say after the NST and U/S. Do you think it could be from your mucous plug?

I always look at the tp after I wipe to check for blood, I have done it throughout my pregnancy. It must be scary to actually see blood, but try to stay calm. Take it easy and rest if you can.

Blood at any point in pregnancy is startling. I would guess it's either from sex or maybe your mucous plug. Was it red?

With all you have gone through, all the worry, I would not blame you at all for calling the Dr and getting checked out. Worry is not good for either of you!

Oh no. That is really scary. I'm glad you have the appt with the doc though and can get checked. I'd bet it's from your cervix though since you DTD the night before and had only a little blood that one time. The cervix is so much more vascular during pg. But man, oh, man, this is the last worry you need at this point in the pregnancy. I hope it all turns out okay. Please let us know.

If it was bright red it was probably from your bum being sore from the diarrhea. Good luck!

How are you doing now? If it was an isolated incident, then it's probably nothing to worry too much about. Easier said than done, since bleeding during pregnancy is ALWAYS scary. Hope your testing today puts your mind at ease -- and hopefully worry over the blood didn't mar your weekend!

I agree, it's probably sex. It's also a good sign that you had to wipe to find it, rather than it gathering in your underwear. That means there wasn't very much.

Always ask if you're concerned. But I'm thinking and hoping that things are just fine!

I would say it's most likely sex, but still must be so scary at this point in the pg. Keep us posted. .

I agree that it was probably just a broken capillary in your cervix from the sex. Next time try to choose a position that has DH going in very shallow, like spooning or something similar (see Lindsey's "ahem" thread). However, I'm glad you're getting it checked out just in case--better safe than sorry!

Update

Well, my NST went well. I talked to the nurse about the bleeding and she checked me out and said everything was fine- the baby looks good, she is moving alot, and all is well. Phew! Thank you all for the well-wishes. I am relieved. I have an ultrasound tomorrow so that will furthur put me at ease.
