taking placenta religiously, still depressed

I'm just shy of 3 weeks pp and have been a real mess... which I'm surprised by, the birth was so empowering & healing! I've had some amazing women in my life, both IRL & online that have been great, and my dh is so incredibly supportive... but I'm still so low.
I was taking 2 capsules daily until about 5 days ago & now I'm taking 3 a day. Is it just too soon? I'm going to keep taking it no matter what, I believe it's got lots of beneficials for me... I just don't know if it will be enough for this PPD.

Do you mean Prozac maybe? Or some other anti-depressant name?

I could be wrong, but I think she means placenta... As in ground, dried, taken in capsules. It's supposedly full of beneficial stuff and works wonders for PPD. http://placentabenefits.info/medicinal.asp

I do mean placenta, I've read that it's the natural "cure" for PPD and I dehydrated mine & encapsulated it.

My thyroid has been tested every 2 weeks for the past 3 months, my endo is on top of it. That is a good one to check, tho.

I took WAY more than that! I took 2 capsules 3 times a day for the first 2 weeks and then 1 capsule 3 times a day for the next two weeks. Also there is no shame in anti-depressants if you need them.

Did you have this last time? What exactly are you feeling?

I did have this last time, my situation then was pretty crummy as far as the birth & babymoon so I attributed a lot of my blues to that. I've been all over the place w/my emotions... even wanting to leave my wonderful, supportive dh & spirited older dd at times. I'm just really shaky emotionally.

I will start taking more capsules right away, and will give it a couple of weeks... I will consider meds if I don't see any improvement.

Thanks for the replies!
