Garden hoses for waterbirth?

Did any of you use regular medium to heavy duty garden hoses for your water birth?

You have to be real careful doing that making sure that it can be used for drinking water. Most garden hoses have chemicals in them that are known to cause birth defects. It is unlikely that your baby would have birth defects but I know that I wouldn't want to labor, birth, or have my baby in those kind of chemicals if they are that serious. Just make sure that is it suitable for potable water. RV hoses are, I know or at Lowe's they have the hoses that you get by the foot and can add the attatchment to for your faucet or washer hook-up. Just be careful with the garden hoses because most are not suitable for drinking. If you find one that says so, GREAT!!!

We used the python aquarium hose... it was awesome. You not only could fill with it, but if you turned a lever, it drained the pool, too, which was nice when we needed to re-heat the pool, you know? It also was helpful in draining the tub at the end.

Garden hoses are not recommended. Read the Birth Pool Resources thread at the top of the forum.
