I've decided not to vaccinate

and surprisingly my family is ok with it! After letting my boyfiend read up on the dangers, he was completely supportive, too. I wish I would have been more informed with my first daughter. She had her shots. All that for nothing. I wasn't even aware until one of my WIC appts not too long ago that you don't have to get vacs in Ohio if you have philisophical reasons not to! Why do they keep this stuff a secret? I'm just really happy that I'm more informed this time around and I know I'm not putting those things in my infants body. She's going in for her 2 month check up tomorrow and the Dr. probably thinks that she's going to vaccinate. I don't think so! I'm just a little nervous because my boyfriend won't be there to help me out if she's weird about it. He'll be at work.

If I did well baby check-ups, I would just tell the doc that I am delaying, period.
Good luck with your decision....I will be researching the topic for 10 years in Oct and it learn something new everday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good for you, I think you are making a wise choice not to vaccinate. If you're not up for a little debate, just tell the dr. you're not vaccinating for religious reasons. She will shut up about it. If not just be firm in telling her its not up for discussion, attitude goes a long way.

not "her" shots. they are sold by a company that does not have "her" or "her" good health in mind. believe me!

keep researching. that is not the only secret out there.

can you take someone else for support? if not, don't let the doc discuss vaccines with you. not at all. tell her you do not want to discuss it. period.

her discussion only serves one purpose, to wear you down and comply. she knows nothing about vaccines, she is only a puppet for the most powerful and most corrupt conglomerate in the world. and she is not aware of it at all.

just in case you decided to -

- be ready for her to ask what religion you practice and be quick to say you do not discuss your religion.

My mom always usd to just let the doc give their vax lecture and then say ' I'll keep that in mind' and not take us to get the shots. I go to a homeopathic nurse practitioner for my son.
Also I agree completely with Gitti.

Ohio is one of THE easist states from what I've read to get an exemption Its one of the nice things about OH - theres not a ton, but they do exist!

This statement bothers me.... not sure exactly why. I guess partly because from what I can tell, the OP hasn't even said anything about her ped or what kind of person she is or even how the ped will be about not vaccinating. This is just jumping to alot of conclusions about someone without knowing anything about them. Also, there are many people who know a whole lot about vaccines and still vaccinate. Just being aware doesn't mean one will still choose to not vaccinate.

To OP... hope your visit went well. It is nerve wracking.

For those of you who are interested, I decided to reschedule her Dr. appt. for a day when Billy, my boyfriend, is home. He said that he'll put her in her place if she wants to get an attitude. LoL. He always gets so upidy when it comes to somebody trying to pressure us into something with our children.
Thanks for all of your encouragement!

Very cool!

But if he is not in the mood to have it out with her you can always just smile and say "no thanks! not today!" or "we're delaying until we get more research done".
