Anyone else experiencing prodromal labor? The last two nights have been quite sleepless, and I am just tired of the pains. I know there is no known cause, I know there is nothing I can do, but I just wanted to vent.

Ok, I'm done

I've been there. For 11 days actually.. It was the most awful experience ever... It really zapped away my mental/physical energy for labor.

I found doing open squats with the contractions helped, descend the baby and was a little more comfortable then trying to just "walk" thru them"..

I actually put my head on my kitchen table, my hands would either be on the table, or on the seat of the chairs on each end, I would open my legs to shoulder width apart, and I would stick out my stomach, and slowly squat downward w/ the contractions.. Maybe that can help?

It has a purpose, but a painful, annoying, one.

I might be making a connection between my predromal labor contractions and what I had been eating. Have either of you noticed whether you were eating cinnamon or nutmeg when the contractions occured? My contractions started to taper off today after 2 days going strong, and then they started up again at 4pm today after I had the same dish that might have started them 2 days ago at 3pm.

Coincidence??? From what I can find online, both cinnamon and nutmeg may cause uterine contractions!

oh yeah I notice that, for me it has been anything spicy, usually.

Mine has seriously been goingon for weeks though, I get severe bouts every few days but your right certain foods make it pick up more.
And by severe I mean they actually make me *think* I am in labor or it's starting up they are THAT strong.

Emotionaly and physiclaly draining. It's all I can do to focus and survive taking care of my kids each day, it sucks.

Oh joy here comes another one

Well, I'm 41 weeks and i won't say i've had NO prodromal labor, because i've had some... but I'd feel better if I'd had a lot MORE early labor activity going on.

I've been having false labor for 6 weeks now. I'm one week over and 3.5 cm dilated, 70% effaced, and my cervix is "mush". You'd think this kid would slip right out, but NOOOO, I'm *still* having false labor!

Oh, and this is my second baby, which I thought you'd generally go into labor by the time you are this far dilated. Shows how much I know, huh?
