movie scenes - how about the original version of the Thomas Crown Affiar, when Faye Dunaway and Steve McQueen are dressed to kill, totally "smitten" with each other (it plays a little less sweet than that ), and they play this INTENSE game of chess? Compare that to the remake with Brosnan's bare buttocks and the rather graphic sex scene... I think the original is MUCH more intense.

(okay admitting to full geekness with this one ) the hallway scene in the X Files movie. Darn bee!

The celebration/music/dancing part in Chocolat is also wonderful

A Room With a View, sigh, what a wonderful choice! Young Mr. Emmerson striding across the field, Miss Lucy Honeychurch standing there in the tall grass, just waiting for him to kiss her... great stuff!

Music: Miles Davis best of the blue note, Dave Matthews Band Before these crowded streets, and Charles Mingus ah um, are my three most inspiring albums

Books - great call on Frog Pajamas- that guy is wonderful! Tom Robbins in general writes some amazing stuff, plenty of it is highly sexual in the most unusual ways. The Anne Rice vampire books are very, very sensual in a wicked, Vampire way.

In "The Cider House Rules" the first time they are together on the beach there. Very hot.

I also second "Wicked Game" - love it.

And Volcano by Damien Rice...

Movies - Last of the Mohicans fan here too. And the dancing scene in Dirty Dancing right where they're about to get together.

For books, I'll go with a childhood favorite, Witch of Blackbird Pond, where the guy comes home from war and goes to Mercy, I think her name was...

I know there's more, but I'm stuck for now.

I just saw a really awful movie called The Whole Wide World with Vincent Donofrio and Renee Zelwegger. I can not recommend this movie enough! It was HORRIBLE, really really bad...high school drama club bad...but the kiss! You MUST see the kiss.

Actually, I'm pretty sure you can find it on youtube. Worth your time.

That scene is great!!

The one that sticks out in my mind, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Gary Oldman and Winona Ryder on the bed where he wraps his arms around her when she has her head against his chest. Very erotic, but at the same time conveys is deep feelings for her.

Since somebody else brought up vampires first, I feel better about pointing to Spike and Buffy literally bringing the house down when they finally do it on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Hmm... definitely some of the Rider/Oldman action in Dracula (as mentioned above).

Kidman and Law at the end of Cold Mountain. I mean, you have to wait so long for that!
