Who's drinking their RRL tea?

I just finally bought a bunch bulk last weekend and have been getting about 3 cups in daily but iced. I can't drink anything but coffee or chai hot and since that isn't happening much these days, not much hot passes this way.

Anyone else and how are you drinking it? I have a mini pot that makes 3.5 cups of tea with a strainer attached, so I brew about 2 Tbsp for 15 minutes, add a tiny bit of honey or sugar and then ice.

I need to do this!!!

I should call Wild Oats and see if they have any in bulk. I'll pass right by their store tomorrow on my way to my midwife appt, so that would work really well. Need to stop in anyway to get more organic raisins (dh has a sulfite sensitivity).

I'm drinking "Mother to Be" tea from the groscery store. It has RRL as the main ingredient and pepermint and a bunch of other stuff that is yummy. I just started this weekend though. I've been noticing more BH contractions, but I've also been stressing a lot this week with DH leaving this morning for his new job 6 states away and my mom getting overly dramatic about a move that is months away.

I'm doing thte Yogi Tea Mother to Be tea too- I'm making iced tea with a little lemon and sugar. I have an iced tea maker that makes 2 quarts and I go through a pitcher every day and a half or so. I didn't drink ANY RRL last time, so I'm hoping it helps this time!

Anna, actually I think the increased BH may be a good thing. My good friend who is a doula said that I will know I am getting enough of the RRL when I notice an increase in my BH. It is supposed to tone the uterus, so maybe that is how?

The only other side effect I have is mild nausea at bedtime. But that could be stress, or my seasonal allergies. Yay post nasal drip!

Yes, definitely there's a connection between the tea and the BH contractions... I stopped taking my RRL capsules last week when I had a really bad couple of days when they just wouldn't quit... and it's let up a little. I don't know whether to start taking them again, or not... I get BH's all day long, off and on so I'm thinking my uterus is pretty toned already! Maybe I'll start with one a day again and see how it goes.

I stopped it when the BH started a couple of months ago and have been a little afraid to start up again. But I figure in the next couple of weeks I'll start drinking it again. I've had loads of BH all along, so I'm feeling fairly toned, but I figure it can't hurt once I get to about 34 weeks or so. I'm not afraid it's going to trigger labor or anything, just get uncomfortable.

I might start at 36 weeks but at the moment I just do not want to risk it.

I'm drinking it too, have been for a while. When the weather was hotter I made sun tea and added it to ice- using 3 teabags of the Yogi- Mother to Be Tea or bulk RRL and a bag of something else herbal for flavor. Gosh that was refreshing! Now I'm drinking a cup or two of hot Traditional Medicinal Pregnancy Tea.

My uterus has been really tight this whole pregnancy- I don't think I've noticed a change in BHC, but my midwife said on Tues that my uterus seemed really toned. Yay.

Hubby has been making a concoction for me with various teas (always with RRL too) and I've been having about a pint glass a day. Probably not enough.

I am! I had a different experience with RRL. I started drinking it during the 2nd trimester, then I stopped. Then I started having contractions. My MW told me that for some women RRL increases contractions and for others it decreases them. I had not heard that before! Sure enough, I started drinking it again and the contractions are MUCH lighter. Weird!

I drink one cup a day of the Traditional Medicinals. I drink it with sugar and milk like regular tea cuz I'm an English girl, as my English grandma would say.

I've been making big batches of it iced and drinking that... usually 2+ glasses a day, although when the batch runs out it might take me a couple days to brew another one. I sweeten it with stevia, so it really helps keep me hydrated when I'm craving something sweet. Sometimes my body gets confused and tells me to give it sugar when what it really needs is water.

I just started drinking it - Im 31 weeks. I have a pitcher of RRL brewed from loose leaf at home and drink the TM Pregnancy tea in the morning at work. I haven't felt any BH so far... but this is my first, so maybe I don't know what they feel like?

thruout this pg i've probably totalled about 5 at most of iced RRL tea and 5 at most of hot RRL tea (sometimes mixed w/ alfalfa and nettle). i'm never regular about this and wish i were. but i'm not usually regular w/ anything i do...its all very sporadic, depending on my mood. which changes constantly...pg or not.

I have capsules b/c I'm not a big fan of the tea. I don't like taking them b/c they make BH contrax come stronger and more often. I guess that's what they mean when they say it "tones the uterus."

Yeah, yuck!

What does "tones the uterus" mean, anyway? Is there a tea to tone my abs?

I also was drinking it in the second trimester, then my BH contractions started to seem suspiciously like plain old contractions so I stopped for a while. On one memorable occasion, I ended up sitting in my car with DD on my lap for a really long time waiting for my uterus to relax enough that I could strap her in her car seat and drive home. It was a little disconcerting, and that was when I decided to give it a rest for a while.

I started up again just today, in fact. I made a great big pitcher of RRL iced tea, and have been drinking it all day. The BH are back in full force already, so I seem to really react strongly to it.

My Irish grandmother would somehow put lemon and cream in her tea and it wouldn't curdle. Anyone have any clue on this one? I remember doing it at her house when I was little, but she's been dead for 12 years and we didn't have the best relationship.
