Had my U/S today....

All is well. I feel like a totally bad mama though because I feel like the baby's nose looks funny. I am going straight to hell. I should not care what her nose looks like. They said it may just be the angle or maybe she moved. I know once she arrives I will be so grateful to have her... they did a 3D ultrasound, which DH missed. He was at work.

The good news: she is over 4 lbs (she is measuring 4 lb 12 oz, +/- 11 oz. She is measuring 33 weeks and that puts my due date at 11/15 instead of what I thought it would be- 11/27. I know she will come when she dang well pleases. What else... oh, a picture! I hope this works... it is actually a slide show.

Oh, how beautiful!! Seriously, the technology now a days blows me away!

IMO, all babies noses look alike!! All really funny, but, I really think its a natural selection thing to allow them to breath while they nurse. If they didn't look funny, then they would getting a nose full of breast tissue instead of air.

I have a question about the dating, though. Are they actually moving your EDD on the basis of this ultrasound? I thought U/S was only accurate for dating in the first trimester...

Seriously, most 3D ultrasound images freak me out! Very few are dead-on I think. Don't worry about her nose

She's beautiful! I think her nose looks perfect! I've also heard u/s dating is only accurate through 20 weeks. Hopefully they don't change your edd, for incase you go over. You'll have more wiggle room if they leave your edd as is.

The U/S tech said the doctor would be the one to say what the EDD will be. If she is going to be a whopper and she wants to come 2 weeks early I will be OK with it if she is doing well...

For the record, with Doran (our son), he was born at 35w3d and only weighed 3 lb 1 oz... so she is already bigger than him by over a lb! I feel good about the U/S. Thank you all- she is a beauty. I was looking at the U/S picture with the nose... it looks like her cheek is a little wonky so it may just be that she moved. I don't care either way- she is beautiful to me.

I think she has a lovely nose! Our kiddo's nose looked, well, very porcine in one of the 3-D pics and my husband was referring to him as Pigboy for a few days.

Very happy for you that the u/s went well. IME baby noses are not usually for life anyway (unless you happen to be me = apparently I was meant to nurse forever), but I'm sure her nose will be absolutely adorable once you meet it IRL.

hehe, I can so relate to this. i had an ultrasound two weeks ago for my GD and they did some 3D pics also. I thought her nose looked exactly like mine and was so freaked out. I would rather her have DH's nose. Then we got home and looked at our baby pics and realize that all baby noses DO look the same. I'm over it now, but I wish I had just skipped looking at the 3D pics.

My DDs nose looked JUST like my dad's at our u/s last time. That was NOT a good thing! : Think Wicked Witch of the West, just not green She has an absolutely adorable nose!

Yeah, I said that about ds's feet...and guess what? He has *exactly* the same feet as dh. At least they're cute on a baby, if not my dh!

As for noses,DH is all Greek, in evan's US his nose looked GINORMOUS.. like totally abnormally HUGE , the OB even joked "well, the baby got Dad's greek nose! hope it's a boy!" I mean it was that huge looking... thankfully, it was a shadow or something! but it was funny!

Neat pictures! Glad everything is going so well. I get it about the nose thing...although I don't think her nose looks funny at all. When DD was born, the first thing I asked was if she had the family ears. My dad's side of the family has these ears that are, well, a bit prominent! (She doesn't have them.)
