I am looking for some herbal remedies for elevated BP (140/80). I am cutting sodium intake and using only sea salt to taste. I am also starting coral calcuim and mag supplements. My urine is neg for everything and do not have symptoms of PIH or Pre-E. I think most of it is worrying about my BP because today after a period of rest it was only 121/65. TIA

So, as you say, stress is most likely the issue. But, some ideas: eating lots of watermelon, cucumber, and buckwheat can help high BP, as can hawthorne berry tea. Anne Frye recommends soaking the berries in cold water overnight, and then heating them to just boiling in the morning, straining, and drinking. Finding time in your day to set aside time for light exercise and deep relaxation are probably the toughest, but some of the most effective, methods for dealing with BP issues that are stress-related. Good luck!!

See if you can get your hands on a copy of Susun Weed's Wise Woman Herbal for the Childbearing Year...I remember there being some great herbal suggestions for elevated BP in there. I would look it up and give you the info, but unfortunately my books are all packed up in California waiting to be sent to me here in Wyoming! Hope you can find what you are looking for

not a birth professional but have first hand experience,
hawthorn berry tincture (30 d. a day after the second trimester) I liked it mixed with purple grape juice. You can also get hawthorn berry jelly too if you can find it!
I used this during the last trimester when pg with my DS to try to control borderline-high white coat indiced hypertension. It helped.
btw I have read that for cucumbers to be effective you have to eat like 13 c. a day. (yes that was 13 c.)
: if you have a juicer you might be able to do it!
soaking in epsom salt baths (2 c.) 2x for at least 20 min. a day is reccomended too.
