Yay January!

If you are experiencing any nursing difficulty, feel free to PM me. I was a LLLLeader for many a year! Congrats again and good for you for sticking to your plan AND your guns. What a pain to hear THAT from your MW...grrrr. But oh, well, KWIM?

Social services said "as far as you're concerned we are out of your life" and walked out. B/c it was ridiculous!!! My midwife said I made her tired!...

Oh wow, yuck to have to deal with this on top of everything else! Was this your midwife that dropped you/threatened to drop you from her care, or her assistant who agreed to act as your doula?

I am glad you guys are home. Enjoy your babymoon!

YAY!!!!!!

YAY, YAY, YAY AND YAY!!

You and your baby (awesome name, btw) have given me such hope and power and I have been talking to dh about doing an HBAC and this story has really helped him be more receptive to that idea.

I am so, so, so proud of you.

If you're ever in the Sacramento area let me know.

CONGRATULATIONS.

thanks mamas!

For the record. It was my back up midwife (she didn't know she was a backup). She is overseen by the docs. She was better than the doc for the birth, but very medical afterwards. So frustrating! Funny though. When I was pushing, I wanted the epi back. The doc said well you won't have an urge to push, so you can have a c/s. I looked at him in between pushes and said, "that wasn't very nice to say!". Dh was happy he did though b/c it motivated me to push her out. Also, he started putting his hand in me and I yelled, "GET OUT!". I have no problem saying what I need to. There are things about the birth and afterwards that I wish could be different (hence)the reason for homebirth!!!!!!!!!!!!), but all in all I am happy and proud.

Now adjusting to 3 kids 4 yrs and under and nursing! :

So happy for the update - regarding the nursing - if you don't have access to an LC, try one of the stores in town - Every Mother & Baby, BestFed, etc. or as a pp said, call LLL! If you're having a rough start, don't be afraid to get help. I suffered through weeks of pain with the first 2 kids, and finally with ds decided to ask for help before it got that bad again - I am soooo glad I did! For me, switching to a cross-cradle hold for initial latch-on made a huge difference. I never even tried that with the girls. I figured by the 3rd kid I wouldn't need help, as I had years worth of experience already - but it made such a difference having somebody give me some tips! Talk to you soon...and just one more YIPPEE Yay for your VBA2C

Ok, I don't know how to post pics, so I am going to change my privacy setting on my myspace page to public for a few days. There's a bulletin with some info and a slide show with pics! You can also click on my pics and view the "now we are 5 album". Here is the link: http://www.myspace.com/jjharshe

Thanks again for all your love and support. When I finally get a birth story done I will post!

Love you all,
January
