...I gave our midwife a headache though. : They wanted to do all their tests and we figured if they were going to poke our baby then she was going to have to explain every test in detail to us (even though we already know about them). Then a lot of miscommunication happened and she thought we were refusing everything...which we weren't. Social services was called in. : After I told them this was ridiculous...I hadn't actually refused anything, they went and got my nurse and midwife. We had it out....I told them that I choose to be an informed patient so that if a test comes back and action needs to be taken I can be involved in decision making for the care of my baby! Social services said "as far as you're concerned we are out of your life" and walked out. B/c it was ridiculous!!! My midwife said I made her tired!...
YAY, YAY, YAY AND YAY!!
You and your baby (awesome name, btw) have given me such hope and power and I have been talking to dh about doing an HBAC and this story has really helped him be more receptive to that idea.
I am so, so, so proud of you.
If you're ever in the Sacramento area let me know.
