I NEED this! Never did em w/first 2 pregnancies & tore like crazy-I've heard this is the single best thing you could do to prevent tearing & I'm determined this time. Great idea

I'm trying to do them when I put ds down for his nap and bedtime. It gives me something think about other than *it's been 20 minutes. go to sleeeep!!*

At our last MW visit we were talking about kegels and she turned to dh and said, "You need to do them too, for your prostate. Just make your penis hop by itself a few times a day." He turned bright red

I can imagine how that might have been awkward!

I tried the "do 'em @ red lights" thing & it worked pretty well for me today-thanks for the good idea ladies!

Hmmm, it is way easier to bump this thread than to actually do the Kegels!

Everytime I see the title of this thread, I do my kegels.
Since I'm on every.single.day.

Yes, I realize I need a life

Hey I thought of a great time to do them and it's the only time I really remember...I've started doing them when I sit down to go to the bathroom, since I do this all day and night! Plus they say that if you can stop the flow of urine then you're doing it right. My only exception is public restrooms. There I practice squatting (the above the seat hover). Who knew going to the bathroom could turn into a workout session!

I'm telling you girls, doing them to the music really helps.

ohhhhh, i have not been good about this lately.

bump!

You know, I did kegels religiously with dd#1 and still found pushing to be incredibly difficult, and still tore (but that was probably for other reasons like the fact that I was a hospital transfer and had to purple push lying on my back).

This time, I have to be honest, I feel a little apathetic. I'm still doing them but in a half-a$$ed way. Oh well, come on girl, get on it!

I just find them so hard to do! Even when I do remember, I get so frustrated that I give up after a few maybe's. I've asked my partner to let me know if he can feel me squeezing when he's inside and he invariably says no. More frustration!

My midwives have given me all the tricks about identifying the muscles that allow you to stop your pee mid-stream(which I CAN do), and using fingers to check in the bath, etc, etc...but honestly, it seems that those muscles just do not respond to my will!

Anybody else have this trouble? Any tips?

Thanks for letting me vent!

OK anyone get the kegel weights? LOL, I was reading another thread somewhere on here, I have to say.....I was laughing so hard.
I've never heard of such a thing....I could only imagine.
Anyone got them, and use them?

bump!

this is for my sake, and the sake of everyone else refreshing this page so many times each day. maybe if i see this thread, i'll actually DO something about it!

you'd think that by now, thoughts about pregnancy would be so all-encompassing that it'd be easy to remember to do kegels. but i'm still forgetting! (sometimes, i'm even forgetting that i'm pregnant!.... do you think that's pregnant brain setting in?)

peace,
hcm
