That is just unnecessary. We need to be accomadating, but not THAT accomadating.
I'll take topless breastfeeding over clothed formula feeding any day of the week.

Whatever it takes to keep the breastmilk flowing...

Are you being serious? Do you really think it should be legal for women to sit around topless in public, even if they are nursing? Not trying to be snarky, I just am trying to clarify. And I nurse topless in my house all the time-not out of necessity but it is just easier!

At 15 months we still haven't had any bad experiences either. We've moved across the country and flown to Texas and New York, nursed on all sorts of public transport, SF cable cars, the grocery store, in restaurants...no problems at all.

hmm well in my little town of ny it is legal for woman to go around topless.. i cant remember if it was just at beaches or not but we're allowed to be topless

i personally don't think iwant to see woman walking around topless but if they were nursing i wouldnt have a problem with it.

The only time anyone ever said anything to me, they were relatives. I've never had a stranger say a single word to me. Some people glance at us, but I've never had what I would call a dirty look.

Never had a bad experience. No glares or snarky comments. I've only been treated as if it's a normal, every day thing.

I've never had a bad experience. I've nursed my three year old in public even! And, I've tandem nursed my kids in public once or twice, I think. I did find nursing shirts to be very helpful in that instance.

Me I've been nursing for 5yrs 3mo and have never had anyone make a comment, etc. Now what they said when I left, who knows :

I think it should be legal for women to sit around topless whether they're nursing or not. Why shouldn't it be? I wouldn't do it myself now, because too many people in our society think it's inappropriate, but I'd be happy if societal attitudes changed and people started thinking it was no big deal. Just think how much more relaxed we could all be about NIP.

It's been all positve here, too. Even on airplanes. I've actually gotten a few nice comments.

Honestly, I do think it should basically be legal. Anywhere a man is allowed w/out a shirt a woman should also be. My breasts shouldn't be considered more sexual that a man's bare chest.

My brother technically had breasts (gynocomastia) and no one would have thought twice about seeing him topless playing ball at the park or at the beach/pool or jogging down the street or working in the yard. I know of women who are so small busted that they were about the same as my brother but in our country they couldn't have gotten away with the same thing.

I know many places have a no shirt, no shoes, no service rule, so that would apply except in cases of nursing in my opinion. I sincerely doubt that most nursing moms would take advantage of that to go topless unless they felt there was a real need for their child. A couple might, but they would be very few and far between.

i've had only the nagging relatives

i'm not super discreet but not topless. i have pulled out the whole boob. mainly because it was just easier with what i was wearing. BUT...

i'm one that thinks if a women needs or even wants to nurse topless she should go for it and the public be damned. what's the difference in a shirt pushed all the way up to your chin (which many baby's routinely do) and being topless anyway??

We're 14 months in and I can't recall ever getting negative comments or dirty looks when NIPing.

Never had a problem; but then again I do live in Australia so maybe that makes a difference - I think we have a very relaxed way at looking at things

Me neither. And never an offer for a blanket, nor any suggestions to move to the bathroom.
I'm just lucky I guess.

I even nursed my 3 year old on an airplane and the worst thing that happened was the flight attendant told me to watch his legs when the cart was passing by. Anyway, I thought it would be interesting to see other's experiences.

I have NIP'd everywhere. Applebees, VS, WalMart, Target, BJs, Macys, Six Flags, other restaurants, libraries, friends houses, my FIL's house, CEC's, you name it. In addition, I have also nursed my preschooler in some of these places, and no one has ever given me a negative look or comment. Maybe I'm just lucky.

And I live in Massachusetts!!!!
