Midwives, input please, heavy mid cycle bleeding

Ok I'm not getting a response in Fertility board, trying to find somebody who knows something. Started bleeding on day 15 of my cycle, normally 35 days long. Been regular all 4 cycles since AF returned 14 months PP. We've been avoiding conception. As far as I know there's been nothing unusual - no artificial hormones, no vitamin changes, no changes in breastfeeding. It's heavier than a normal period today, and it's bright red blood. More cramping than normal periods. I'm totally wiped out and just feeling overall wrong and uneasy (hormones, intuition, worry, I dunno). What could have caused this? What should I watch out for? Do I need to find a doctor?

Can someone reply please? I've posted in three forums and got zero answers! Am I dying or what?!?

I am sorry nobody is posting! Sounds to me like you have an ovarian cyst. I am not a midwife but I have had ovarian cysts most of my life. The doctor can diagnose this with an ultrasound or by checking your hormones. If you don't want to go to the doctor that is just fine. Cut sugar out of your diet and check out soulcysters.com or the polycystic ovarian syndrome pcos group here. My doctor told me to go in if the pain was unbearable or if it lasted for 3 weeks. This might be the problem, might not. Either way get a rice sock for your belly/back and take it easy.
