You won't believe what a stranger just asked me...

We were buying new workboots for DH when the lady working in the store started talking to me...First she asked when the baby is due, and I told her my EDD is Monday...then she asked me if I'm having any bloody show yet?!?!?!?! WTF is wrong with people?

This pregnancy has been great for people leaving me alone, so I guess the one stranger who bothered me had to be a complete nutter...:

OMG. I would have been SPEECHLESS. (Which I've never been.) HOLY CRAP!

Okay I just thought of a response:

"No, but I've been having really bad diarrhea and my hemorrhoids are acting up like crazy, today I found 5 new skintags on my ass..."

Oh please, someone ask you something too personal so you can actually say all this stuff!

I'd rather have someone ask me if I've had bloody show yet, than tell me I should be induced or that I look too small/big or whatever.

Wow, people are strange!

I had two cashiers at two separate stores ask me if I was dilated and /or had lost my plug last week. I was just dumbfounded. :

A stranger started patting the small of my back and saying she thinks it's a boy.
OK, that's nice! Don't touch me!

Can I add a nice one?

On thursday went to dollar tree for supplies and as we walked in, dd5, dd3, and me holding hands...my tummy sticking way out, a lady nodded at me, smilled and said "beautiful family."

made my day

Wow. That is really weird. Of all the things to ask someone, that is one I wouldn't have thought of. Mostly because I personally would not want to know. And I can't imagine why she would either.

I like YumaDoula's answers though!

This pg has been great for people leaving me alone, too. Other than asking me when I am due and whether it is a girl or a boy. And suddenly in the last two days two separate people have asked me if it is my first. I am not sure if I look young, or just that naive...

Yikes! I haven't had anything that wierd, or even close really. I was walking through the store with my mom and DS the other day. I was actively talking on my cell phone, it was kind of an emergency (someone elses). Three different women came up and started asking me questions (when I'm due, blah blah).. WHILE I was on the phone talking. I thought that was rude as hell. I am not one for walking around talking on the phone, but it was necessary at the moment. People just don't know anything anymore.

well, the stages of birth and delivery are becoming more main stream aren't they?

How strange! I'm not sure what I would have said... actually, I probably would have used it as an excuse to tell the stories of my past births, when I had show with those and stuff. If you give me an opening for birth stories, I'll talk your ear off

WOW!! That is crazy LOL I wouldnt want to ask or be asked that LOL a little TMI for a stranger!

I have gotten lots of "its gonna be twins", "when are you due?", "really? you look like you are gonna pop NOW" and all the other comments like that this time etc...

When i was pregnant with DS, I went to Bath and Body works with my mom...and I had one of the women there (an employee) lift up my shirt and start rubbing lotion on my tummy and telling me how wonderful that type of lotion is for itchy skin while pregnant etc...and NO she did NOT ask me before doing this...My Mouth DROPPED and my mom and I were like What the heck when we left LOL!!

Dh's commander's wife keeps calling me, asking me about the pregnancy, and I give her way more info than she probably wants to know, LOL. Dh has said to me afterwards, "You talk her ear off!" and I said, "Hey, she asks me how I'm doing, I'm going to ask her! Maybe these women will stop bothering me if they realize they'll get tediously long answers!" (It's not that I don't like the women, most of them are ok and dh's commander's wife is really nice, but I'm a cranky pregnant woman right now, and then I'll be a cranky sleep deprived mama of a toddler and newborn. If you want to feel helpful, bring me a meal or offer to watch Emily for me for an hour so I can take a nap, don't call me while I'm trying to cook dinner and insist I need to go into great detail about my midwife appointments!)
