My water started leaking Sunday night - however the nurse at the hospital did the strip test and it came back negative - according to her. She wanted to keep me and monitor my contractions - which were 7 minutes apart - but I refused and we went home.
Had a bad night since my DD was sick and up every few hours. On Monday I took my daughter in to see her Dr. in the morning - she had the croup and moved up my schedule with my OB from Tuesday to Monday afternoon and I stayed home from work.
Around 11ish in the morning as I was playing with my daughter I felt a HUGE gush of fluid and thought to myself they better believe it this time that this is my water!!!
So I went and showered and then had a light lunch and made my way to the Dr.s office after soaking a couple of HUGE pads.
I got to the office and sure enough there was no doubt it was my water, plus my contractions were quite close but not bothersome.
She scheduled my for the OR at 6:30pm. So I called DH - who was very excited and told him to come home so that we could make our way to the hospital.
Got to the hospital at 4:30pm and the baby was delivered at 6:25pm. He developed a chest infection and will be in the NICU until this Monday - God willing - they have done a battery of tests and it does appear that it is all contained to his chest. He is responding to the treatment and has been nursing like a champ. However his billirubin levels came back at 13.5 today so they will start him on billi lights today as well.
I was released on Thursday night and appear to have developed an infection in my incision as well as a plugged duct - YUCK! So I have been on antibiotics for both. I am staying in a room for NICU parents so that is good - however it is on the first floor and NICU is on the fifth so there is a ton of walking that I have been doing - but it is all good
Keep us in your thoughts/prayers I want to be able to take this little guy home on Monday since I miss my DD terribly and hubby and my mom are ready to kill each other...sigh.
