where to find fresh herbs

Not sure if this is the right forum to ask this...

I'd like to consume more fresh herbs (teas, tinctures, etc.) particularly for protein while pregnant. I'm currently reading Aviva Jill Romm's Natural Pregnancy Book and getting really excited about trying her suggested herbs.
Where can I find them?
We live in a city and our garden is limited to pots. That coupled with the fact that it's obviously really late in the season I think I have no choice but to purchase the herbs. Where can I get them? Does Whole Foods sell them? Should I just try growing them inside?

anyone?
I went to Whole Foods tonight- looks like they're a no go.
Is this something I'd have to order online?

Most grocery stores have some fresh herbs in stock and farmer's markets usually have plenty.

Though, I have to admit, I didn't think herbs were a significant source of protein. Minerals and chlorophyll, very much so! Mmmm, a good pesto made fresh just makes me

herbs are a fabulous source of protein! You aren't likely to find her rec's at a market though. I assume you're looking for things like nettles, alfalfa, red raspberry leaf, lemon balm and the like. Foraging is your best bet, other than that you may have to settle for them dried... www.mountainroseherbs.com is a great source.

I think foraging might have to wait for next year...
and it's funny that you suggested mountainroseherbs! I found the resource list in the back of the book and after some perusing decided to order from them last night. I'm bummed that the herbs are dried but I figure it's better than nothing.
