I need toy ideas

Christmas and birthdays are coming up and I have no idea what to get the kids this year. I want something that will last them awhile and really work on their imagination. Caleb loves trains so that is a bit easier. Tahlia . . . she doesn't have a huge preference yet. Dolls are okay, dress up is okay for a bit, and she ignores her kitchen and hates all her Little People stuff. I'd love something they can do together. They are very close and do everything together. Does anyone have any unique ideas or websites?

I am thinking about art supplies or a texture table (you know..the ones with holes and you can drop in bins with water, foam, rice, beans, etc.) to feel. If you had a table with 2 bins, they could play together.

How about an Art Easel? My kids just got one and they are similar in ages to your two kids. One side has a chalk board, the other side has dry erase, and it has the roll of paper you can bring down on one side. It's been nice because they can both work on it at the same time. My DD especially likes the big roll of paper, because she likes me to tear off a piece as tall as her so she can lay down and I can trace her....then she colors herself in.

The other thing that is a big hit around here is legos. We have several of the duplos set's, the pink house, the farm, the zoo -- they play with those a lot too.
