Do we drop in a third pregnancy?

Yesterday, I noticed my belly seemed much lower and even my husband commented that I was "dropping." Come to think of it....I HAVE been able to breathe much easier the last few days. I thought we didn't drop in second or third + pregnancies? What the heck doese "dropping" mean anyways? I assume baby moving into position?

You drop in later pregnancies, but it is just less likely that it'll happen way in advance of your labor. A lot of third time moms drop during labor instead

My babe dropped in the last few days -- this is my second pregnancy and I have been sure he will be early - but this seems too early!

I am 35 weeks (36 on Wed) and due Oct 31st...

Had some crampiness and low back pain last night too --

I don't think they would stop labor at this point...but I feel like my body is getting ready..

My babe had begun to drop by 36 wks as evidenced by his head findable via self exam.. Third pgcy and he was born at 39wk 1d! By then he was super low and I first effaced almost completely and then dilated quickly. Having baby low is a great way to start I think!

My midwife palpated me and said that my baby is REALLY low -- I had no idea. I don't feel like she's low, and I'm still have indigestion, so I assumed she wasn't. Hopefully this means that baby will arrive soon!

I dropped at 38 weeks with my second
I dropped at 28 weeks with my third (she was at 0 in my pelvis for 12 weeks!)
I dropped at 33 weeks with my fourth (he's been at +1 since then)

So "they" say you drop later or not until labor with subsequent pregnancies, but I have dropped sooner with my last two rather than later.

well, i'm glad to see that dropping doesn't happen at the same time for all pregnancies, because this guy is still floating sky-high and shows no sign of going down (though his head is down in my pelvis most of the time). I know i was dropped by now in my 1st, it seemed i was dropping right about now with my second....

I have dropped and I am 38w (on Tuesday). This is my second pregnancy. It happened right after I saw the chiropractor.. I actually felt it. I seriously thought for a minute he was coming out without labor or anything. YEAH RIGHT! I like that I can breat a little better, but not much since I have a "short" torso.

I'm 36 weeks, and I've dropped - keep feeling like I need to poo and realizing it is just the baby sitting low!

This must be SO obviously a FTM question. How does engagement (I think that's the right word!? baby's head is down in the pelvis?!) compare to "dropping?" Same thing?

Umm how is this possible?
I thought the water blocked the babe, that why no "sex" after water breaks? Like you'd want to? kwim

If the head is tight against the membranes, you can feel it through the water bag. You can also feel it through the wall of the vagina, so you don't even have to feel into your cervix.

Yeah, I can feel a bony little head about 2 knuckles inside my vagina, through my uterine/vaginal wall. It's really cool.

Actually it is very different for everyone and in my experience it has been different each pregnancy. My first three pregnancies I didn't drop until I was in late labor. The fourth I dropped a few weeks before and the fifth I dropped about 30 weeks along. I am 37 weeks now and have not dropped this time. I am really thinking I won't this time just like the first three times.

My only indicators of labor ever have been consistent painless contractions, loose bowels, and my plug starting to come out. However in one birth the plug never showed itself. I never get any earlier indications of birth coming soon.
