Do you have a yogurt maker? Which one?

I'm tired of making my yogurt hodge-podge and it turning out great sometimes and not-so-great at other times. I want a yogurt maker, darn it! But I want one with glass jars. Any suggestions?

I just bought the Euro Cuisine YM100 at Williams-Sonoma (we had a gift card - it cost $39). It comes with 7 little 6-oz glass jars. I'm going to try it this week - I'll update to let you know how it turns out!

For a larger batch at once, I've read that some people use a standard yogurt maker like the salton, but use a quart mason jar instead of the plastic jar that comes with.

YEAP. Its called an ice chest.

Yogurt is made in quart and half gallon jars. Comes out perfect every time.

This is the one I have:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...359382-6848167

I use a mason jar instead of the container that came with it. I then leave the lid off (because it won't fit with the mason jar.)

Works wonderfully!

We have this one and it works well. You can actually use a quart size (I think) round corningware casserole dish if you want to make one large batch instead of the smaller jars.

I use this same one, but the lid fits over a mason jar though not as well as over their plastic container. Maybe the model of mine is slightly different.

I should make some yogurt. I've been in kefir land for the longest time...

Maybe I'm just remembering wrong. I tried the lid once and then put it in a box and put it away.
I also seem to remember that the yogurt is at a lower temperature without the lid. Stick a thermometer in it and see which temperature is closer to what you want?
