I am driving myself crazy!

Since Thursday I have had contractions that range from mild to intense and anywhere from 4- 20 min apart (I haven't gone for more than 20 min without contracting). From 11pm-6am last night I had very regular cntx that felt very much like menstrual cramps that were 6-10 min apart max- I kept waiting for them to get closer but they didn't (didn't get any sleep though I tried to catnap between surges/waves)

anyhow - I am now finding that I am constantly worrying about the baby and how he is coping with the uterus tightening around him all day long for days and days - if he goes more than 15 min without moving I tap my belly to get him to give me a reassuring roll/kick/movement

I can't tell just how he is lying right now - on Thursday evening when I was contracting every 3-4 min for over 2 hrs he was posterior with his head tilted to the right (on my hip bone) so he wasn't in a good position to help move things along - I have tried just about everything possible on the spinning babies website and he has definately moved a lot since then but I just can't pin point where he is lying now (I do feel limb movement on both sides now- thinking that is a good sign?)

I have my next appt on Wed morning- I am thinking of changing it for tomorrow instead - not that she can tell me anything new about when I will go into labor and it will stick - I realize "it will happen when baby and body are in sync" I just don't want to be so anxious and paranoid about these contractions possibly causing distress after this long

with my other 3 kids I went into labor, knew it was "real" right away and gave birth 2-6 hrs later (even with my youngest dd who was born posterior)

sigh -

thanks for letting me vent!!!!!!!!!! :

Hugs to you - if it helps any, I'm in the same boat and have always labored this way. DD had APGARS of 9 and 10 and DS had APGARS of 8 and 9. Both are extremely healthy. I am so jealous of those people that just go into labor. I prayed and prayed it would happen to me this time, but apparently that's not in the cards for me. Your due alot sooner than I am, so hopefully you won't have to endure too much of it!

I could have written your post myself! Except I've been doing this dance for the past 2 weeks! Last night I slept for the first time in a week and I actually woke up thinking I could maybe hang in there a little longer. Then I stood up to pee and hobbled to the potty, contracting all the way. I hate even talking to people because it got too hard to say I'm fine when they ask. They have no idea what they're getting themselves into!
I'm taking the 'easy' way out in less than 48 hours...
I'm so glad I blogged alot of my pregnancy so in 6 years, when I've forgotten all of this discomfort, I'll have a record!

I am so there too...Sunday was the worst for us. I phoned everyone for "heads up" thought for sure this is it. Then everything fizzled and I (thankfully) managed a good night sleep. I had a MW appointment yesterday and she said it is common in second or third pregnancies to have this "ripening labour". In fact she said it was really good because it should make actual labour shorter as some of the work is already done! That being said I feel like I am walking around on red alert just waiting for "it" to happen

Hang in there Mama, it won't be long now!

This is encouraging!
