I think my problem was that I pee too often, you are supposed to used them in the afternoon and hold it for something like 3 hours before testing. I can't do that. HTH.
Oh, yeah, vegamanda, I had the same problem with never ever getting a positive OPK. I hoped they would give me better warning about when I was about to O, but alas, they didn't. But some people have really good success with them. I'd also try the internet cheapies first, too, to see if they will work for you, before you splurge on something much more expensive.

Y'know, I think I might even have a few OPKs left. If I do, I would happily send them to you for you to try out. Let me know if you're interested.

I guess I have every sample except that one. I will check it out though. We have white trim too, I think we are going with smooth driftwood(tan) thru out. I do have heaven's wind(light blue) taped to the wall as an option for our bedroom, but dh is not so sure.

Hi Ladies!

Apparently, my neck bump is a pleomorphic adenoma, which is almost always benign, but if left to sit around in one's body, can become malignant. So, I have an appt in late April with a surgeon to figure out the logistics of cutting this thing out. There is a slight possibility that it is currently malignant, but I'll know more later.

On baby-making front--no symptoms yet. I had a weird little cramp yesterday that went away, but that could've been from all the Mexican food I've been eating.

I'm getting really discouraged about VBACing next time. I know so many women who were frightened into repeat c/s by their OBs. The new birth center that's opening here next year isn't allowing anyone with any previous c/s (talk about adding insult to injury). I think I'm going to do a little research on HBACing, it looks like my only good option. VeganF Do you know where can I find some info on safety of HBAC?

Vegancupcake What do you think about the durability of the VOC-free paint? I'm thinking about trying it for our next painting project.

VegAmanda Yes, being pg in the middle of the summer is no fun, especially if you enjoy gardening. I had been charting, but am now trying the OPKs b/c my sleep is so irregular from being up with DS. So far, I've found the results somewhat confusing, but my temps were too crazy to rely upon. Read the info about opks on www.peeonastick.com, it's very thorough.

Have an excellent day, you fabulous vegan women!

We're planning on doing Fluffy the babe's room in VOC-free paint, too.

Another thing we like is blik wall decals. Fun stuff, huh?
neat! I wish we had white trims. I know one can paint it but it's so annoying thinking about how you can return it to its original state once you move out.

I also ordered this shirt, which hasn't arrived yet. I am not normally this stylish and I almost never spend money on clothes (usually I am standing in Target going "$12 for a shirt?"). Something came over me last week, what can I say?

I will try to hurry thru the book so we can compare "patterns". I love how she avoids negative words.
nice coat! Sizing is so unpredictable especially online. why not be stylish once in a while, I have been eying clothes, too.

catemom, good news! well, besides surgery. I'm happy it's not dangerous. and I'm hoping it's a real symptom you're experiencing!

how are you veganmama, veganf, lilgreen and amanda1188?
catemom, on VBAC, Henci Goer mentions studies on the safety in her "Obstretic myths and research reality". it's too expensive to buy but many college libraries have it, or possibly your local one. All I can say is that my mother had one with my sister (at a hospital, but no second cesarean) and she was fine. I am aware that anecdotal experience won't help you with the birth centre.

catemom, I am glad you finally got some news, sheesh!

I love that coat too! SnowPea where does that band around the waist hit you? Is it above the natural waist or at the waist? I am desperate need of a new Spring/Fall coat.

I am not bothering to temp anymore this cycle. I confirmed O and I ahve no chance of being PG so why not take a break?

I am here, hoping for all of you but I might not be posting as much.

A long time ago, the trainer at my gym told me his "wife couldn't have kids". I was, of course, sad to hear that. He was very nonchalant like he didn't care at all. I thought that maybe it was his way of protecting himself, KWIM?

So I never told him I was PG or had m/c becasue I am not seeing him for individual sessions anymore. I had however told my yoga teacher who I guess told him.

This was the conversation today while I was doing some crunches waiting for my yoga class to start:

Trainer: (laughing) I guess it didn't work out eh?
Me: Excuse me?
Trainer: (still laughing) So, are you disappointed?
Me: Well, yes. Yes, I am.
Trainer: See, that's the difference between men and women.
Me: (incredulous) What????
Trainer: Women get upset by that kind of stuff
Me: (boiling mad and just saying the first stupid thing I could think of) Well, maybe that's because you are not the one that has to bleed your baby out of you for 3 weeks.
Trainer: (laughing some more) Ha ha, you crack me up!

Good! I got my IUD out this morning, which was really painful. But it's out and that feels so good.

Omg. I'm dumfounded. I'm sorry you had to deal with that. His poor wife, too. If he's so incapable of empathizing, imagine how lonely she might feel.

Yuck, that is really sick of him. Bleh. Uh, no, sir, that's the difference between jerks and real men--real men care about the women in their lives and their children, living or not, and jerks don't.

On a related note, sometimes I go into the Infertility forum and read some of the posts so I can learn more empathy so that I *never* say really stupid, hurtful, insulting things to people about their reproductive lives. Ugh.

catemom, so glad you finally got the results. Sorry that you have to have surgery, but it sounds like better safe than sorry in this situation.

The band is above the waste, about level with my elbows.

What an ass! I'm sorry he was so insensitive.

Veganmama What is wrong with that trainer guy??!! Seriously, did he have some severe head trauma at some point? I'm just glad my husband was raised in a household of women so he knows not to say stuff like that.
veganmama, what??? I was a little wary already if he really worded it as"my wife can't have kids" which may be true but it sounds like he's distanced from it all. but that is no excuse AT ALL! I'm sorry you had to deal with that on top of it.

lilgreen, yay for the new beginning

vegancupcake, that is a wise thing to do. you're such a caring person!
oceane, I am going to report the trainer. I cannot imagine if he said something like that to someone hwo was having a harder time coping than I am! I feel awful for his poor wife.

I see you are posting on the Maca thread. I have a whole bag of it at home too. I shoudl start taking it again. Blech!

Hi everyone! Have a fertile day!
veganmama, good idea to report the trainer.

catemom, the no-VOC paint comes in different finishes: semi-gloss, eggshell, and flat, so the semi-gloss is pretty scrubbable and would be more durable. We got the eggshell for our bedroom. : that little fingers don't get it too dirty around the doors!

lilgreen, ouch on the IUD, but it's out and now things can begin in earnest!

Hi ladies!

Well, I've decided that if AF doesn't come tomorrow, I'll test. I don't feel pg at all, so I'm not getting my hopes up. Anyway, take care everyone! I'll keep you posted if anything interesting develops.
catemom, is it OK if I have my hopes up for you?
catemom, please report!

veganmama, do you not like the taste? I will def. get some but we're waiting to buy anything till next paycheck. Thankfully amazon has it. and I've read it contains l-arginine (?), so that'll cover that one for me. I'm really hoping it will do something libidowise.. ginseng was supposed to but I'm not feeling anything yet. I really want to be more"interested".
I'm glad you're reporting that trainer. He doesn't need to lose his job but maybe some training in compassion would be appropriate.

oh, and we finally officially have got the apartment. I'll post pictures in May Hopefully in a vegan pregnancy thread though

so does everybody have a day off since it's Good Friday? It's a national holiday in Germany, so that means a 4-day weekend and what are you having for Easter treats, sweets and meals? DH and I don't celebrate Easter so we're just having burritos tonight and possibly Indian tomorrow. And Sunday/Monday we're at MIL's so I have no clue what's for dinner.

Hi All!

AF came last evening, whew, and she is pretty powerful this month! It feels like I could singlehandedly shift the earth's magnetic poles. I guess I'm happy and sad about it for different reasons. I am sad because I'm not going to try this month since I'm going to be meeting with a surgeon soon about getting the dreaded bump out. It may take at least another cycle after that before I have the surgery (and hopefully there won't be any need for cancer treatments after that). I feel like I'll be menopausal before I finally get to have another baby:. I guess the good news is that I won't have to worry about subjecting a fetus to various radioactive scans and anesthesia.

Anyway, I am making my sister and one of our other single female friends come watch "The Business of Being Born" tonight with us. I hope it at least helps them realize that they have choices.
catemom, how old are you? I thought I was the only one who was perimenopausal on this thread, LOL.
I am sorry AF is being so rough with you this month. Good luck, I hope you don't have to wait too long for the surgery and everything goes beautifully well.

oceane, I had today off. Nice because it was DS's 4th birthday today. I work Monday (stock markets are open) but DH has it off because he is a federal public servant so I may try to just go in for the one meeting I have scheduled.
I am glad you got the apartment, officially!
