Any Vegans TTC? - Page 45

oceane, congrats on getting the apt! One less thing for you to worry about. I had to work today, and it was a long busy day. It was snowing when I left work, so I knew I was in for a long drive too. Then I slid off the road and got a little stuck! Not really a big deal though, was just in an akward position. Had to wait for Hubby to come help. I got out without a push, just needed him to create a break in traffic long enough for me to work my way out without getting hit. So then we decided to stop for dinner at my least favorite restaurant, Red Robin. Turns out they have a rice/veggie stir fry-ish dish that didn't require veganizing, so that was a nice surprise. Then we got home, shoveled, and then it was 8 o'clock!

catemom , sorry to hear that af showed up. I am sure you have plenty of time to have more kiddos before menopause, but I definately understand the feeling. I really want to see the bus of being born, how were you able to get a copy? I heard it was avail on netflix, is that the only place?

catemom, . I hope this is the last treatment you get, and then you can have your baby! and treat yourself nicely during AF time.

veganmama, happy belated birthday to you ds. did he get a party? I've heard kids' parties can be pretty stressful..

it's saturday everyone!

A local midwife in MA attends HBACs and has written a few books on the subject of c-secs which I assume also cover the VBAC topic:

That's all I really know, sorry!

Wow. Just wow. I don't think I could ever have another conversation with a person like that, much less another class. :

I'm so glad I found you guys!
Belated welcome to you...and lots of baby dust!
This is my 4th vegan pregnancy. Don't worry, your baby will get everything it needs.

Hi Krista!

oceane,
We just had my sister, BIL and 5 month old nephew over for dinner last night on Jack's official birthday. We were supposed to have a "family" party with his little second cousins, his godparents and grandparents etc today. About 15 all told. But somehow, thanks to my MIL, it has morphed into Easter Sunday dinner for 37. Officially it is potluck but yours truly ended up with most of it of course.
DH has a huge Irish Cathlic family. We often have 40-60 people for stuff like MILs 60th b-day last year, ILs 40th anni this year etc etc.

Jack's "friend" birthday (his first one) will be next weekend at a local community centre. I will just have to do loot bags and supply lunch. The decorating, the crafts, the games and the cleaning up will be done by their staff.

This is after having 12 kids for DDs b-day party at our house last summer and it rained. Never again,

I am not into competitive parenting though. Many of the birthdays in our neighbourhood are very elaborate (and expensive). With Alannah we always just get a cake and some nibblies, set up some water games in the backyard (she is in July). Maybe a pinata!

Something odd today TTC-wise. I've had a tiny bit of red thread like blood in my CM today at 9DPO. No chance of it being implantation bleeding as we missed O (and I've never had it before with any of my 3 PGs).
So strange.

Happy Easter!

We have had a very non-social holiday. DS has diarrhea , so we only did minimal social stuff (watching "Business of Being Born" and going to an Easter egg hunt at the park).

I loved Business of BB (rented from Netflix, BTW), I think I may have finally convinced DH that we should try to have the next one at home (although watching the movie made me want to go to "The Farm" for the next one).

I highly recommend the film--especially for those who have not had babies yet or even explored the home birth option. I especially enjoyed watching Ricki Lake be a doula for her friend--I don't know if I've ever had a friend who would be that supportive, dedicated, and non-squeamish (besides DH ).

Have a great day ladies!

Well we survived the family get together, The kids had a blast with their cousins (actually DH's teenaged cousins and his same-age cousins' kids).

Still spotting today. I am totally wierded out by this. I am not a spotter. No implantation spotting, nothing before AF, never during PG.
Yesterday and today I have spotted about a thimble full of blood per day. About 2 weeks ago I spotted a bit more.

AF is not due until Friday.

I am sure it is due to the m/c. But according to chinese medicine spotting always means something. I am wondering what it is!
veganmama, I also guess it's due to the m/c, which in itself is "something", right? It must be weird to see cycle changes though if you're that clockwise usually.

catemom, I hope ds will be better soon! sounds like a great movie. obviously not available in Germany (obviously because I have a hard time finding the good American Indie movies that don't come out on screen. Bigger productions are no problem).

I had some cake and some marzipan and didn't overall binge too much, which I am proud of. The 3-hour train ride was a hassle though. and I seem to be fertile, which is nice and early I'm trying to relax to not scare o away

Hello Veggies! Hope everyone had a good weekend. I just nibbled on some grapes and nuts yesterday at grandma's. That was fine though because we didn't stay very long and I wasn't that hungry anyway.

For those of you that have read The Infertility Cure, here are my patterns:
(Ki Yan-) 6 yes out of 13, (Sp-) 10 yes out of 29, (Bl-) 4 yes out of 8, (Bl X) 4 yes out of 18, (D) 3 yes out of 9, and (CW) 2 yes out of 3. Haven't gotten to the recommendations for treatment yet. Will try to get some reading in tonight.
you're thorough snow pea! question: I only took measures for the 2 patterns I fit in most, not any of the others that had under 5 yes. is that the wrong approach, do I need to do something for all of them? because some measures contradict each other...

hi vegans, I'm pretty much snowed in! must go to work... must go anyway...

CD 2 for me, AF showed up yesterday after those two days of light spotting. So I either didn't O, or my LP was much shorter than usual because AF was not due until Friday. I am actually happy to be on to the next cycle a little earlier than I had thought. I did check my EDD if we are successful this cycle and it is now Dec 28th. DD was 3 days early and DS was 5.

SnowPea, how funny, we only share one pattern. My deficiencies are Kidney Yin, Spleen Qi and maybe a little Liver Qi stagnation. My acu says my Liver is much better though.

I talked to the property manager about the trainer and she is going to have his boss talk to him.

Is anyone else annoyed by the "How J-Lo lost the baby weight" headlines on the tabloids at the supermarket? Those babies are just a couple of weeks old aren't they???????????
I'm def. spleen qi deficient but I'll have to look up whether it's kidney yin or yang.

I feel the same way about quick weight loss. since she's German we heard all about Heidi Klum and her being in the Victoria's Secret Show like, 3 days after? I enjoy gossip but it's an annoying topic. I'd rather SEE the babies than her stomach.

christmas baby, veganmama!

what's going on in the pregnant vegan households?
Hi All,

Veganmama A Christmas baby would be lovely!

I'm sorry, but if you're back to your pre-preg. body that fast there is no way you are breastfeeding, or EATING for that matter. I feel sorry for people in the spotlight who feel pressured to lose weight and get their old bodies back so quickly, I think they sacrifice too much for their careers.

I think we are slowly getting better around here. DH was home from work since he felt so bad. DS is pretty cheery for someone who is pooping so much, so I think he's doing okay.

Take care ladies!

I am not sure, the book says you fit the pattern if you get 1/4 to 1/3 yes. Some of the groups have only 10 questions so 5 yes would definately fit. I am not sure which pattens contradict, not that far yet. I think Kidney Yang deficiency(Ki Yan-) goes with Spleen deficiency(Sp-). And it says (Bl X) usually goes with (Bl-). I am not really sure on the cold uterous(CW) though, there are only 3 questions for this pattern: Do you fit Kidney Yang deficiency?(yes), Do you fit Blood Stasis?(yes) And Does your lower abdomen feel cooler to the touch than the rest of your trunk?(no) Maybe we will both get pregnant this cycle and not have to worry about it! BTW, I think we are fertile together again.

That is funny about not matching patterns. Glad to hear your Liver is doing good. I am at the section in the book that is about the monthly cycle, and seems that the Liver has a lot of influence on it.
I am glad that the property mgr is taking your complaint seriously, hopefully it will save someone else from one of the trainer's a-hole comments. On the J-Lo thing, yes! I heard that she had already lost all of the weight on one of the tabloid tv shows I think, I was thinking how is that even possible? Figured I must have heard the date wrong or something! I haven't had a baby yet, but I have lost a lot of weight, and it is not easy. I can't imagine a strict diet/exercise routine right after childbirth!

I didn't mean the pattern contradict but the nutrition advice for them. but since I don't heed to that advice that much, it doesn't matter really.
right, we are! you're only one day ahead of me! the earliest I ovulated was day 23, so I'm hopeful to at least get there. which wouldn't be the ultimate success but ok.
I need to use the time more though, I feel the urge to actually enjoy this time of the month. I wonder why I get stressed so easily by work/other circumstances.

"getting better" vibes to catemom's family
post #898 of 1054
Get well wishes for catemom's family. My DD poops about 3 times a day, every day and is the happiest person I know! Maybe that's the secret!!

You can treat all your patterns at once most of the time but if that is too overwhelming, work on the ones you had the most check marks for first.

CD 3 for me, ho hum! Should O in about 10 days if the m/c hasn't messed me up too much. AF seems pretty normal, unlike some of the scary stories I heard over on the loss board.
good for you, veganmama! do you drink any herbal teas, like rrl during AF?

I stopped the vitex, I think I'm allergic to it. my face broke out way worse than usual and is now pretty much back to normal. so that was money NOT well spent : i'm keeping up ginseng, my homeopathy and the lovely heating pad.

Sorry to hear that you had a reaction to the vitex. Not really something you can return either. Sounds like your skin got back to normal pretty quickly though, thats good! Nothing new to report here, feeling very fertile today.
