Any Vegans TTC? - Page 46

thanks snow pea. It's ok, I really wanted to try it and I might reuse it at some point. Maybe it was a temporary reaction.

I'm feeling not so fertile anymore, I was hopeless enough to pass up BD yesterday. last cycle we had perfect timing and nothing, so now I don't know if one more mechanical act would be worth it. I'd rather wait till we actually feel like it. hopefully tonight though, considering no temp jump here.

oceane, yes I do drink RRl tea AF-O.
I am sorry you are feeling down about TTC. It's tough, I know. This is my 10th cycle. Somehow, even though I am 40, I never thought I'd be here.
If it's any consolation, the cycle we did get PG we only DTD 5 times all month (unusual) and our timing didn't look great.
Hugs to you!

thanks veganmama I know we're all in the same boat. I'm not really that down, just not too excited either.
I am right now marinating some tofu that I plan to bake and bring to a dinner with my coworkers tonight. however, if it doesn't taste good I'll just make a salad. I will not represent veganism with a bad main course :

eta: I didn't leave that early, I was home past midnight. so it was very relaxed and I loved my salad.
how was everyone's friday?
hey oceane, glad you had fun at your work party. My friday was not very exciting. I came home, read a little, fell asleep for a "nap" around 6:30 and slept until 10:30. Got up, ate dinner, and went back to bed til 7:00 this morning. Maybe I am coming down with something!

vegancupcake, where did you order the infamous sports bra? A friend of mine is having a hard time finding a (size G!) sports bra that is comfortable and has the support that she needs.
oceane, I know that frustration with perfect timing amounting to nothing. It's such a complicated biological dance that the egg and sperm have to do . . . . So complicated. So several months of perfect timing with no results doesn't mean there's no hope.

Sweet~Pea, the infamous sports bra came from Enell. It ain't purty, and it ain't cheap, but it sure works. Pre-pregnancy, I wear a 00 in their sizing, and now, I'm wearing a 0. I also bought a size 1 for later. (I'm a small-framed person with big ol' boobs.) Another source is Title 9 Sports for a wide range of bras. But FWIW, I have tried virtually every bra they sell and none of them are as good as Enell--but I'm very particular about motion control.

catemom, I hope the sickness has left your house!

Waaaay back a long time ago, we were talking about pregnancy workout videos and how they're usually really crappy. I just got a DVD called Pilates During Pregnancy and it totally kicked my trash! There are two sections: abs and legs. I only did the abs section and whooooo, I am feeling it--but it was great! She doesn't give a lot of instruction on Pilates form and principles, so if you've never done it before, it's probably not the best.

Now if only I could get the local yoga studio to start offering a prenatal yoga class again. Seriously, this town likely has the highest birth rate in the U.S., and they can't fill up a prenatal yoga class? :

Is the abs workout all laying down? I have a horrible time on my back while pregnant, very painful. I'd love something that gives alternative sitting and standing workouts. I know that the Pilates instructor at the local Y said there are standing modifications that can be done for pregnant women or people with bad backs.
Some of the ab work is sitting up, but most of it is leaning on a pile of stacked blankets, so you're on an incline. I don't have any discomfort yet, even flat on my back, but I made a little pile of blankets so I was propped up. The instructor is quite pregnant--she looks about 7 months.

The hip/leg work appears to all be standing poses.

cool workout video, vegancupcake. awesome that you do it! and thanks.

snowpea, I hope you won't get sick.

everyone else: hi!

yay! I have had flat temps for 4 days! and now more EWCM either that is a very low temp jump that ff doesn't see or it's anovulatory. it IS a little higher than most pre-o temps, so either seems possible. *sigh*

I type fast

Hi Ladies!

Oceane I hope you're not despairing too much, your month will come!

Snowpea I hope you're coming down with a baby instead of the flu.

I am a Pilates fanatic now. I've been doing it since Jan. and I feel like it's something I want to do for the rest of my life. My instructor said that if I get pg, I can continue classes with her and she will modify them as the pg progresses. I think if a person is new to Pilates, they should defintely opt for a class before doing a DVD individually. It's really important to have the proper form, otherwise you can really hurt your back.

Take care ladies! Have a great Sunday!

I wish there were Pilates classes near me. I used to take it at my gym, but we moved and even though it's only 30 minutes away, I can't add an hour of drive time to my schedule or budget right now.

I'm just finishing up my first month of charting, and it was pretty textbook. I should start cycle 2 tomorrow, maybe later today. I thought I ovulated at day 18 because of copious EWCM, but FF says it was day 20 based on my temps. Next month I'll use OPKs, too, so hopefully by May we can make an educated attempt at knocking me up.

I've been eating so poorly lately. I went and spent $200 at the grocery store today in an attempt to be better this week. Pack real lunches instead of Luna bars, perhaps.

Maybe its your thermometer going bad? I mean it is weird to have the exact same temp 4 days in a row, isn't it?

I am not sick, yay. Just was really tired and a little snotty that one day. It may have been something, but I have a really good immune system, so that is the extent of illness for me sometimes.
All this pilates talk...I tried a new pilates dvd today that my sis copied for me. It is Denise Austin. Not as hard as windsor pilates(which I have on vhs), but it moves a lot faster.

I love grocery shopping. which is good because we don't have a car so we don't do big once-a-week shopping trips but get what we need a couple times per week.
and congrats on having great charts! and cycles!

Good morning all! FF moved my O date from Thurs to Fri after I put in my temp for today...Not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing except that its one more day to wait. Have a good day everyone!
ff isn't always consistent. i'm hoping you'll wait for AF forever. (I can never find the fingers crossed smilie. do we still have that?)

does anybody take algae like spirulina? for general health I mean, I don't think it has any specific TTC value, or does it? It seems like a healthy thing to add, however, I don't think I can take any MORE supplements. Unless it makes you feel 100% better/more healthy.

Hi everyone, what a busy weekend on this thread.
Congrats to SnowPea and Amanda for o-ing and hopefully you did too oceane. I know it;s hard to tell sometimes when you ahve a longer cycle.

My yoga class is super hard. It's very easy to tell I have been slacking on my weights since January. Some of the poses are getting tough to hold!

One benefit of having BF 2 kids, I no longer need a supersonic running bra. Just an off the rack on will do!

I am CD 8 but still had some spotting yesterday. And since AF was preceded by 2 days of spotting, I have now been bleeding for 9 days. VERY unusual.

Anyway, hoping this is the month for all of us! Except anyone who doesn't want a Christmas baby!

I'm sorry you're spotting veganmama especially since that's usually not the case for you. I hope it will stop soon and not get in the way of anything.
I also have a question for you or any other TCM expert:
since I can treat several patterns at once, the individual herbs recommended would be safe to take at the same time, too, right? I located a German pharmacy that stocks the herbs (everything Lewis mentions!) and I'm willing to get some next month/next cycle. But I don't want to take two together that will harm me or not do anything then. thanks.

have a fun tuesday everyone. I'm back to unpaid internship work :
oceane, you can treat multiple patterns at once. As long as you have cross referenced all the sections in the book regarding what NOT to take for your various patterns, you are good to go.
As far as the spirulina goes, I take it in a liquid greens supplement. It also contains wheat grass etc etc.
I am glad you found a supplier nearby!
Believe me, I take a lot of supplements. I carry them with me and take a few every couple of hours or so.
At my acupunture appointment yesterday she said (after looking at my tongue and checking my pulses) that my kidneys are "really good" and previously she had said my liver was great. So the only thing left for us to work on is my spleen. And getting lots of bloodflow to my ovaries of course!

Nice temp jump SnowPea.

VegAmanda, diet has a huge effect on fertility so I am very excited for you!
thanks veganmama. AND: yay for your good kidneys!!
